GT&O builds, implements and maintains the business systems and technology that are critical for delivering Discovery's products, while articulating the long-term technology strategy that will enable Discovery's growing pay-tv, digital terrestrial, free-to-air and online services to reach more audiences on more platforms.

The Role
We are hiring a Director, Technology M&A Integration to lead our M&A portfolio partnering with various business units. In this role, you will lead our pre- and post-acquisition scoping and integration activities for all our acquisitions and joint ventures. You will be acting as a trusted partner and advocate throughout the M&A integration life cycle with senior leadership.
The ideal candidate will have the rare combination of operational know-how and strategic instinct. Strong candidates will have a demonstrated record of success working in uncertain environments, having driven strategic priorities with a high level of independence. This is a client and executive facing role that requires being able to balance multiple projects, priorities, and detail while cultivating a trusted relationship with global partners and managing a team.
Responsibilities
- You will be the technology SME and advisor to senior leadership and provide specific guidance and strategies around integration and implementation approaches for both prospective and completed acquisition transactions.
- You will define and lead multiple projects and maintain responsibility for project management, implementation, integration and adoption of processes, systems, and solutions; including, enterprise technology, business systems, broadcast systems, information security, and other Ad Hoc aspects to the integration process.
- You will support other transaction teams and team members throughout the due diligence, integration, implementation phases of acquisitions and work closely with key members of Business Operations, Finance management, Direct-to-Consumer and corporate development teams.
- You will support the creation of executive-level analysis, briefings, & reports for internal use and key stakeholders.
- You will be accountable for on-time delivery and project completion of plans while identifying and resolving roadblocks for overall integration strategy success.
- You will be responsible for preparing and managing the budget for M&A integration activities.
- You will own the M&A Playbook, standards and best practices across the division ensuring knowledge of the M&A practice is maintained.
Qualifications
- Equivalent of 8-10 years of IT and business/industry work experience, with at least 3 years of M&A integration experience and 5 years developing and executing project portfolios.
- Must have experience with M&A integration road maps, and technology systems and infrastructure, business systems and process road maps.
- Must have done 3 or more M&A integration projects across a global company. Each M&A integration project should have been with companies with a minimum of $5 million dollars in revenue.
- Must have the following skills and experience from an integration perspective: enterprise and broadcast technology
- Must have an analytical mind to assist with modelling and analysis of impending and ongoing transactions.
- A high degree of professionalism and a strong level of comfort interacting with US & International based executives and clients.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with geographically dispersed cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience in high-level business discussions and low-level technical discussions.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities with the ability to balance risk with business priorities and apply the appropriate sense of urgency to issues.
- Ability to multi-task and handle on a proactive basis, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment to maximize time-management and efficiencies.
- Demonstrated business acumen, problem solving skills, intellectual maturity, and relationship management skills.
