About the job

Spruce is looking for an experienced Closing Operations Associate to join our growing national team. The ideal candidate will have experience closing purchase and/or refinance transactions in a high volume, fast-paced, often ambiguous startup environment focused on transforming the real estate industry.

As a part of the Closing Operations team, your enthusiasm and ability to solve problems effectively within evolving workflows will help us delight our customers. Your ability to partner with a cross-functional team to ensure an efficient closing will help us build and expand our escrow operation

What you'll do

• Work with the curative team and our clients to ensure each file is clear to close
• Prepare in advance for upcoming closings and plan each closing for efficiency borrower experience
• Prepare an accurate CD/settlement statement that complies with the lender's closing instructions, includes all confirmed fees, and is free of errors 
• Partner with our Client Support team to schedule a smooth closing process
• Work closely with the Disbursement team to ensure that the transaction is funded accurately
• Communicate with your teammates and our clients by documenting your activities in our systems
• Learn the nuances of the particular clients and loan types you’ll be supporting
• Work with your manager; and our Client Success and Business Operations teams to improve our processes and delight our clients
• Do what it takes, alongside a great team, to close each file in a timely and efficient way

Requirements

• Successful experience closing a variety of loan types in a national model - multi-state experience is a plus
• Willingness to obtain state escrow licensing if required
• Successful experience producing high quality work under tight timelines
• Significant experience and skill checking your own work for errors; past success meeting strict regulatory standards for accuracy
• Able to closely follow procedural, state and regulatory guidelines
• Calm, confident, and helpful attitude under pressure
• Successful experience building relationships with a cross-functional team; and the desire to build our business from the ground up
