Primary Purpose:
Responsible for leading the Visual Merchandising strategy and execution in North America across Retail, Outlet and Wholesale. This individual will partner closely with the global visual team, marketing, Field leadership team and buying to adapt global direction to meet the business and customer goals for North America. They will develop and execute training for VM team members and broader field team, help drive new store openings/renovations, and lead the design process of in-store amplifications and pop ups in partnership with global VM. This individual should have strong influencing skills, creativity, and strategic leadership. You will be a part of a dynamic, creative environment where you will interact with cross-functional partners to ensure that Coach's visual merchandising strategy supports the overall business objectives in NA.
The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Visual Merchandising Leadership to:

  • Merchandising & Training
    • Ability to lead team to create strong visual presentations that drive business.
    • Stay up to date on competitive visual and activation trends to glean best practices
    • Evolve global direction to address NA needs in partnership with VP of stores and buying
    • Manage, train and develop the Field VM team & support in-store VM Programs to fuel internal talent
    • Support with store training when necessary to ensure on-brand execution of each monthly delivery
  • Identify areas of business opportunities with VP of stores and deliver action plans
    • Fixture needs
    • Merchandising shifts
    • 2D/3D seasonal strategies
  • Partner with Marketing to create store roll outs for seasonal messages (2D, 3D, takeovers)
  • Work with VP of stores on all new store openings, store re-models in the region
  • Manage flow of communication between global visual merchandising, NA VM team, store leadership, and buying through conference calls, touch bases, and store visits
  • Leverage creativity and innovation to ensure VM is helping provide a seamless omni experience, and is helping recruit and convert new Gen Z/Young Millenial customers


The accomplished individual will possess:

  • Strong communication/leadership skills
  • The ability to interpret visual merchandising presentations and relate it back to the store environment and adapt to different store designs and architecture.
  • Strong attention to details, e.g., standards, marketing, lighting, fixturing, windows
  • The ability to be creative and inspire others.
  • Awareness of fashion trends and the ability to interpret them back into visual merchandising.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


An outstanding professional will have:

  • Minimum 7 years of area/district visual merchandising experience
  • Strong understanding of symmetrical vs. asymmetrical with regard to fixturing and wall scaping.
  • Experience facilitating new store openings.
  • Proficiency with in Microsoft office (Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of InDesign a plus.
  • Strong presentation skills and able to articulate ideas.
