Role Description:

We are looking to hire a Head of Strategy & Operations who will be responsible for identifying and pulling the levers to move our business forward. You’ll identify and solve complex problems through both quantitative and qualitative analyses -- and then execute on the solutions to make a meaningful impact on ArtBinder’s business. To do it, you’ll use leadership and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships, inspire change, and collaborate cross-functionally to see it through. You’ll work closely with others, including our CEO, but operate autonomously, using your analytical thinking and problem solving skills to focus your efforts. You are able to think “big picture” to actively identify strategic direction, but are also willing to roll up your sleeves to build analytical frameworks and solutions that directly support growth and/or efficiency. The ideal candidate is genuinely passionate about technology, startups, and the art industry. We’re looking for a great problem solver who thinks strategically, is comfortable with data and ambiguity, and is willing to dive into the details to execute.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to grow revenue, increase profitability, improve efficiency, and scale our business effectively.

  • Frame and break down complex business problems into key components, design analysis to drive insights and answers to critical questions, and recommend practical solutions to get results.

  • Own, define, and optimize the business strategy and performance metrics for ArtBinder’s product suite.

  • Develop business and project plans for cross-functional initiatives such as new product and service offerings, strategic partnerships with key art world players, and improvements to internal operations.

  • Play primary role in annual business planning process, including setting multi-year budget targets, allocating budgeted dollars across departments based on business needs and goals, and projecting revenue and ARR across multiple Product streams.

  • Monitor and report against our P&L and balance sheet each month.

  • Develop presentation materials that include qualitative and quantitative analysis to bring overarching strategic plans to life; Present materials to our CEO and key stakeholders, our board members, current and potential investors, and strategic partners.

  • Build sustainable cross functional relationships across the business, especially Product, Client Relations, Sales and Finance teams.

  • Stay on top of market trends and changes in the competitive landscape, and share appropriate insights with the team.

  • Basic office management including maintaining our HR platform, directing the hiring process for new positions, liaising with legal and accounting, and approving billing and expenses.

 

Skills & Requirements:

  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities with strong Excel and Powerpoint skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with and communicate complex ideas to people at all levels in an organization.

  • Initiative taker, eager to break new ground, and create opportunities for others.

  • A highly enthusiastic and independent spirit, ability to effectively handle ambiguous problems and challenges and drive your initiatives with minimal input.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability in a team environment; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and foster key business relationships.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop executive level presentations.

  • Advanced project management capabilities.

  • Proven record of high performance and substantial achievements in your past positions.

  • 4+ years of experience in Strategy Consulting, Finance/Investment Banking, Business Operations or a highly strategic, analytical, or operational role at a technology startup; Bachelor’s Degree required.
