The Role

This role will be central to ensuring consistent excellence in the Technical Operations space as well as the systems and processes which underpin them. 

We are looking for a proactive and driven Director to lead the Technical Operations team. We are a digitally-enabled business in which continuous uptime and smooth IT experience is critical to our success. The role of the IT Director therefore represents a visible and valued opportunity for the right candidate to have an immediate global impact. Based in New York, this role will oversee Information Technology for our global offices.

As a leader of the global team, we are looking for a highly driven and resourceful individual who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and providing hands-on support while also scaling the team through strategic improvements that will enhance our capabilities. Due to this role providing support across multiple offices, the right candidate should have excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with a variety of stakeholders across all levels.

This role is suited to an operationally-minded individual who has a broad range of technical experience across different IT disciplines, who is excited to scale themselves along with the IT systems, processes, and infrastructure in a high-growth environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage global IT Support team through assignment of responsibilities, development of team personnel, and ideation of key strategic initiatives
  • Ownership of the annual hiring and budgeting processes
  • Responsible for resource and time management for the day to day tasks of the IT Support Team
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex support issues and key point of contact for primary stakeholders across the business
  • Provide developmental support to members of the team through regular catch ups, identifying areas of growth, and creating training plans
  • Develop KPIs and track team progress over time
  • Responsible for managing IT projects, from conception to completion
  • Driving team initiatives and prioritize active work by assigning project and support tasks based on the current needs of the business  
  • Seek opportunities for improvement, take ownership, closely work with company leadership and business partners to drive product and process improvement
  • Assist in office relocations, expansions, and densifications in home office and remote locations.
  • Manage relationships and evaluate third party vendors
  • Collaborate with Procurement teams on software and hardware cost management and implementations
  • Lead trainings for employees as part of onboarding and continued technology education
  • Maintain and contribute to an internal knowledge base of technical documentation and SOPs

What We Look For

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in similar roles (including corporate setting)
  • 3+ years of people management experience in a corporate environment 
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent understanding of Apple hardware and macOS/iOS
  • Excellent understanding of networking fundamentals, experience with Cisco Meraki stack preferred (CMNO, CCNA, or equivalent certification)
  • Experienced G-Suite administrator, familiar with managing domains, security/OAuth, GAM, etc.
  • Experience in IT Procurement (Software and Hardware)
  • Excellent knowledge of endpoint management strategies with experience using different MDM solutions (e.g. Addigy, Jamf)
  • Familiarity working in a fast-paced, professional and results-oriented environment with the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
  • A strong track record of managing a team of direct reports and varied stakeholders
