IT Director

OwnBackup is currently seeking an experienced Director of IT to lead and manage IT operations globally. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director of IT is responsible for managing the IT department day to day, providing core IT services to a global workforce. This role is considered the second and third line of contact when a user reports an issue that cannot be resolved by tier 1 support. This function requires quick thinking, a level of calmness and ability to problem solve in a fast paced environment. Communication and proper expectation setting is paramount.
Your Day-to-Day Role
- Lead the business requirements process with company management and department leaders for identifying technology solutions
- Responsible for all IT activities and support including core software, hardware, IT infrastructure and networks.
- Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of all core IT systems and recommendations for improvements and enhancements
- Collaborate with and take feedback from peers to innovate and achieve company business objectives
- Communicate technology issues and propose resolutions with non-technical business executives and managers.
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating IT projects in line with organizational objectives.
- Identifying vulnerabilities, the need for upgrades, and opportunities for improvement.
- Experience managing an MDM strategy (i.e. JAMF) for deploying and managing hardware globally.
- Help build and develop a consistent support model and necessary processes that can scale globally.
- Own and manage the following IT infrastructure and appliances (Meraki, UniFi, Ubiquiti)
- Manage SaaS back-office stack (G-Suite, Office 365, Slack, Zoom, JAMF, etc)
- Preparing performance, case status and utilization reports.
- Building and maintaining relationships with external advisors and vendors
- Provide level 3 support for 250+ Mac users on laptops, including monitors, tablets, printers, peripherals, and applications.
- Help drive and manage computer and data security, including encryption and anti-virus updates.
- Own the installation and image management, including pre- and post-imaging procedures.
- Documenting and troubleshooting procedures
- Other projects and duties as required may be assigned.
- Hardware installation and troubleshooting as needed: Apple Mac mini, iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad, iPad Pro
- Ownership over the support of in office equipment: Xerox and Sharp printers, scanners, faxes.
- Supporting users requiring help with single sign on and multi factor authentication.
- Overlook the ordering of equipment through IT suppliers worldwide (i.e. Apple, CDW, etc).
- Manage, train and develop a top notch team of 2 to 3 IT professionals/help desk gurus
Leadership
- Train, motivate and manage a team of global support associates.
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and ability to set objectives and drive to results while being team oriented
Your Work Experience
- 8-10 years of experience leading an IT department and supporting a global workforce with a head count of 250+ employees.
- Strong project management skills that ensure meeting of all deadlines.
- Intense focus on quality and on-time delivery.
- Prior experience working in a SaaS product company a plus.
- Comprehensive experience supporting a Mac environment.
- Previous experience administering and managing JAMF (MDM methodologies and self service).
- Previous experience supporting and managing the following networking appliances: Meraki, UniFi, Ubiquiti.
- Previously deployed an enterprise wide SSO and MFA solutions.
- Experience and or knowledge with Crestron automation a plus.
- Previously provided L3 support to a global organization with 250+ users, preferably in an organization with offices in multiple geographies (majority in the US).
Important Details
This is a full time position. The ideal candidate will work out of our New Jersey office to maximize interaction with business. OwnBackup is a global team, so for the right candidate there might be an opportunity to work remotely, though HQ is preferred.
