IT Engineer
Codecademy is a NYC based startup that helps more than 26 million people around the world develop the skills they need to find jobs by teaching them how to code.
We are seeking a part time IT Engineer to work on-site 20 hours/week. Reporting to our VP Engineering, this individual will work on strategic projects related to device management, AV, risk mitigation, our wireless network, SaaS account management and Google apps configuration, while also providing support to the end user. This is a 6 month contract with a chance for extension.
What you’ll do:
- Device Management. You’ll help maintain licenses and warranties for all of our laptops, and refresh any end of life equipment. You’ll also be responsible for asset tracking, including our mobile devices.
- A/V. You’ll be tasked with managing equipment for all of our conference rooms and meetings.
- Risk Mitigation. Your biggest and most important project will be to onboard us onto a single sign-on platform. This will include new system integration and the provisioning and de-provisioning of accounts. You’ll also be working on other security related projects from multi-factor authentication, to device hardening, to frequent password rotation when required.
- Wireless Network. We’ll ask you to constantly update and maintain our wireless access points and corporate firewall, as well as establish site-to-site VPN.
- SaaS Account Management. You’ll be responsible for managing all of our SaaS software and will be the go-to point of contact for the end users when new accounts need to be created.
- Google Apps Configuration. You’ll own our Google Apps environment. This includes account archiving and properly de-provisioning accounts, as well as backing up terminated employees’ files.
- End User Support. With a team of close to 85, you’ll be tasked with providing IT support to all of our employees.
Who you are:
- You have relevant experience with the following technologies: Cisco Meraki networking equipment, Google Apps and SSO applications.
- You have strong end-user support skills and are reactive to the team’s needs.
- You’ve worked in a fast-paced environment where things are constantly changing.
- You have proven experience at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- You’re a strong communicator both written and verbal.
- You have extensive experience troubleshooting a variety of applications.
