IT Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a talented IT Specialist to join us in our commitment to improve the quality of care for patients in every community across the nation.


As the IT Specialist at Covera Health, you will be our primary tech resource. You will identify, own, and scale our IT infrastructures. We seek someone who is passionate about healthcare and is excited to partner with us to achieve our mission. 

You will be expected to:

  • Manage our back-office systems and applications (G-Suite, Slack, Office 365, Adobe, Dropbox, Avast for Business, Virtru, Zoho, Salesforce, etc)
  • Manage and continuously optimize network/internet and associated equipment for the company 
  • Manage all hardware, systems and software (Apple and PC devices running MacOS and Windows)
  • Drive helpdesk support to diagnose, troubleshoot, and provide solutions to tech issues for our team
  • Support for other SaaS technology applications that support Covera’s business, including radiology image transfer gateways
  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software, and resources
  • Establish, document, and implement technology processes, approvals, and procedures
  • Configure hardware, software, and set up workstations and accounts for new team members
  • Create and enforce employee laptop policies and security procedures
  • Manage the company phone system and video conferencing technology
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, printers, networks and operating systems
  • Evaluate, procure, and implement new technologies
  • Evaluate user technology and application needs and requirements and implement solutions to improve user satisfaction
  • Manage operating systems, hardware and software support for computers, mobile devices, audio-visual equipment, telephone systems, wireless access, and printers
  • Support other IT and technology needs to support the day-to-day operations at Covera Health and the way we interact with our provider partners, clients, and other stakeholders


  • 2-5 years of experience as an IT and System Administrator, preferably at a healthcare company
  • 3+ years of experience supporting full facilities, G-Suite, Slack, and small office intranet setups
  • A plus but not necessary - BA in Information Systems or Computer Science
  • Cybersecurity and Network Experience including Network Firewalls, Cisco Meraki, Firewall configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting, and cybersecurity implementation
  • Customer service professional who is excited to dig into any issue, big or small
  • Proactively assess and address problems and issues
  • Experience working within HIPAA compliance 
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be proficient in computer hardware and software systems, network systems, and computer anti-virus & security programs
  • Networking experience with basic understanding of routers, VLANs, NAT, and VPN
  • Strong communication and documentation skills 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
