About Orchard

Orchard is radically simplifying the way people buy and sell their homes. For the average American, the home purchase and sale process takes months, creates anxiety, and is filled with uncertainty and hassle. Orchard has reimagined the end-to-end experience of buying and selling, from innovative home search tools to find the perfect home to the ability to buy a new home before selling your current one. Orchard customers manage the entire experience through a personalized online dashboard, while also getting the support of best-in-class Orchard real estate agents.

Headquartered in New York City and with offices throughout Texas, Colorado, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia, Orchard has over 500 employees and growing. We've recently raised $100 million in Series D funding at a valuation over $1 billion and have financing from top-tier investors including Revolution, Firstmark, Accomplice, Navitas and Juxtapose. Our investors have also backed the likes of Pinterest, AirBnb, Shopify and Sweetgreen. Orchard is proud to be recognized as part of Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth IT team at the ground floor, and play an instrumental role in making the home buying and selling experience frictionless for our customers. We are focused on high quality user support and believe in automation as a way to scale our team efficiently.

An Insider's view of Orchard

What kinds of technical challenges do you and your team face?

Each home is unique and comes with its own challenges and surprises. Even though our team has been through hundreds of transactions, we're always learning, growing, and improving our process with each home we acquire. On the engineering side, that means never being satisfied and constantly pushing ourselves to iterate quickly and deliver quality.

How does the company support your career growth?

Culturally, Orchard encourages a growth mindset, from early career employees to senior executives. Every employee is offered an incredible amount of learning opportunities – both formally and on the job -- to hone existing skills and gain new ones. This not only makes employees feel valued but is critical for teams to perform at the highest level.

What is your vision for the company?

We're looking to make buying and selling a home as easy as trading in a car. We believe that through technology, human-centered design, and exceptional operations we can remove the friction from the biggest financial transaction of our customers' lives. As a team, we get to make real progress towards achieving this vision every day.

Marketing & Product

What are some things you learned at the company?

One of Orchard's core values is "Create Raving Fans" and that means there is no task that is too big or too small for any one employee so long as we're working to deliver the best customer experience possible. Everybody is collaborating to ensure our customers have a seamless home buying and selling experience, and ego is left at the door.
