Job Description

HyperScience is searching for an IT Systems Engineer to partner with our IT Systems Manager to manage the hardware and software we use internally. Our IT team is proactive in identifying root cause of Help Desk requests and implementing repeatable solutions for all throughout the company. Taking a customer-first approach, you will accommodate the needs of a fast growing organization as we scale our systems and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Execute infrastructure enhancement projects hands-on, including those related to desktop and peripherals, software stack, and teleconference capabilities
  • Answer, resolve, or escalate all requests that appear in our help desk ticket queue
  • Take on non-ticket related tasks, such as new-hire account provisioning and hardware preparation and collection
  • Reduce incoming ticket volume by collaborating on a variety of projects to resolve issues quickly and effectively (e.g., stocking our self-service hardware shelf, writing how-to articles)
  • Administrate a wide variety of cloud applications
  • Handle troubleshooting of a range of issues from faulty laptop keyboards to network outages
  • Enforce IT and security policies and best practices to protect company infrastructure and data
  • Onboard and off-board employee hardware and accounts

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years experience with help desk, desktop, or systems administration
  • In-depth knowledge of troubleshooting Mac OS X issues relating to developer productivity, video conferencing and telephony across a variety of services, and day-to-day usage
  • Strong time management skills for balancing interrupt-driven requests and long term projects
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience managing and configuring cloud-based enterprise software such as Okta, Salesforce, and JIRA
  • Customer-first approach to problem-solving
  • Experience with scripting and automating routine IT tasks like on/off-boarding
  • Familiarity with video conferencing like Zoom, Webex, BlueJeans is a plus
  • Experience with providing technology training in individual and group settings is a plus
  • Experience with Linux and hardware is a plus
