The Role

As a Language Operations Manager, North America, you will own our language services and associated product operations in the region. Your primary responsibility will be to manage  transcription, translation and interpretation needs of the organization specifically in North America, liaising with our New York and San Francisco client services teams. 

As the regional operations manager of the Language Services function, you will be expected to both solve key problems and challenges as well as seize major opportunities for improvement and enhancement of the firm’s language service offerings. This will require personal determination, proactivity and initiative, attention to detail and collaboration with globally distributed and remote team members. You will also have the opportunity to work with and build strategic relationships with internal partner functions including  Recruiting, Product and Marketing to help you. You’ll be responsible for supporting our client services team’s commercial initiatives for Language Services and will be their main point of contact for any questions related to our services. 

More About the Language Services Team

AlphaSights Language Services is a rapidly growing team that is part of the New Service Innovation function. In 2018, we began developing transcription services focused on quality and speed, and in only two years this has become a multimillion dollar revenue stream for the company. We’ve built a community of experienced, high-performing transcriptionists, translators, interpreters, and vendor partners who provide the company with best-in-class, accurate and timely linguistic work. You will oversee both the strategy and operation for the rapidly growing North America region while helping to expand the Language Services for our global clientele.

Responsibilities 

  • Improving and expanding AlphaSights’ language service operations and workflows globally and in North America specifically
  • Managing, troubleshooting and streamlining the daily transcription, translation and interpretation requests the team handles
  • Building effective and trusted relationships with our community of language professionals  and vendor partners
  • Serving as the trusted, internal go-to point of contact for members of our Client Services Team
  • Contributing to the growth of language services in the region
  • Setting a high bar for service standards: speed, quality and alignment with business objectives

What We Look For

  • A proven track record of managing transcription and/or translation workflow 
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a full-time Project Manager/Production Manager/Operations Manager role within a transcription company or in the language industry
  • Must have excellent managerial, operational, project management and problem-solving skills
  • Passionate about working with dispersed teams and handling various personalities
  • Entrepreneurial, growth mindset, sees expanding services in the region as an exciting opportunity
  • Bachelor’s degree required
