What you'll do:

  • Work closely with CCO and Head of Partnerships to inform Transfix’s LTL strategy, and build out a world-class LTL service offering for Transfix shippers.
  • Lead LTL operations strategy development, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives, and work closely with Operations and Account Management team to ensure LTL service levels and margin goals are attained.
  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with the Top 25 LTL carriers and lead all pricing negotiations with carrier partners.
  • Implement job-related training for all employees in his/her department and work cross-functionally with sales and operations to communicate strategy and guide execution.
  • Define the LTL strategic objectives, long term goals, and a framework to measure and communicate success across the organization.
  • Assist with the continued growth of business through supporting sales/pricing efforts.
  • Actively work to develop, maintain, and build a cohesive team that exemplifies company values and operates to support company mission statement.
  • Strategically align with the VP Sales, VP Ops, and VP Carrier & VP Technology to ensure that all LTL goals/objectives (internal and external) are achieved.
  • Build and nurture employee engagement by creating an environment within which individuals and teams can grow and excel by serving as a coach/mentor.
  • Manage department growth and needs in alignment with department’s P&L.

About you:

  • Strong understanding of LTL pricing fundamentals 
  • Background in LTL pricing negotiations and RFPs
  • Experience working closely with the Top 25 LTL carriers
  • Natural born leader, effective at building teams
  • Self-starter able to think strategically and technically
  • Strong and effective communicator
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain calm composure under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Superior leadership, planning, and organization skills
  • 2+ years of Sr Manager experience preferred

Location

Transfix's NYC HQ is steps from the Oculus and Fulton Center, with access to subway train lines. We are close to tons of restaurants, shops. We are on the top floor so have wonderful light and breathtaking views, including a spectacular view of One World Trade from our outdoor rooftop deck!
