Where You'll Come In
We’re looking for an experienced Manager, Growth Strategy to play a meaningful role in growing phone sales as a highly optimized digital channel The Farmer’s Dog. You will be a part of leading how we connect with our leads, customers, former customers, and evangelists. Your job will be to drive our existing Phone and SMS program planning & optimization, to build and optimize a high-impact sales team internally and externally, and manage all relevant 3rd party relationships.
In the role, you’ll partner closely with teams across the business (Product, Acquisition, CX, Brand, Data Strategy & Insights, Engineering, etc.) to engineer an outstanding phone and SMS digital program. You’ll work on everything from gaining a deep, multifaceted understanding of our users and how to overcome barriers to purchase, to strategizing how and when we communicate with our leads to drive conversion and long-term retention. You’ll also work cross-functionally to ensure that our phone and SMS marketing efforts fit seamlessly into our other communications with prospects and customers throughout their lifecycle as TFD customers.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a major digital channel and coordinate phone and SMS programs in order to optimize our interactions with customers, while advocating for human-to-human initiatives across the business. You’ll have real ownership over improving our customers’ lives (and the wellbeing of their four-legged companions) while making a foundational impact on our growth efforts.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Build, optimize, and scale outbound and inbound phone sales as a digital channel
- Build a scalable marketing SMS program from the ground up, including establishing strategy, comms, and targets
- Create experiments focused on optimizing processes and performance of the internal and external sales teams
- Work closely with the Director of Acquisition, Product Manager of Conversion, and the Director of Retention to create long term strategy and targets for phone and SMS as optimized and scalable digital channels
- Report regularly on phone and SMS digital channel performance and pacing towards targets
- Collaborate with internal CX leaders to cultivate and grow the Sales team, promoting a high-functioning organization
- Own strategic relationships with our third party phone and SMS vendors as well as creating new relationships and strategies to augment internal phone and SMS staffing with world class BPOs.
- Surface and share key takeaways and insights from customer outreach across the organization
We're Excited About You Because
- Proven 3-5+ years of experience in a growth strategy, sales management, product management, project management, or consulting role.
- Minimum 3+ years directly building and executing on digital growth initiatives and strategies
- Must be a data driven strategist who is well-adapted to prioritization and has a strong bias for action
- Demonstrated expertise in executing from start to finish -- including planning, executing, and launching initiatives/experiments independently.
- Strong communication skills with a keen understanding of how to cultivate strong partner relationships
- Proficiency utilizing analytics tools (i.e. SQL and/or Looker)
- Past sales related background in a subscription business and/or call center is a plus.
- Past experience in a professional leadership role with direct reports is a plus.
