Amplify is seeking an experienced education leader who has designed and delivered professional development for school and district-wide audiences, and has led programmatic change across a network of schools. The Professional Development Partnership and Design Manager, mCLASS will lead professional development implementations for strategic, large-scale adoptions of mCLASS, and design professional development materials for mCLASS. This includes developing year-long professional development strategies, designing and customizing professional development content to fit the needs of the adoption context, managing the relationship with key client partners involved in planning professional development, measuring and conducting reviews of the efficiency of our professional development programming, and hiring and training professional development trainers as needed.
Responsibilities of the Manager, Professional Development and Design:

  • Meet with state and district leaders and serve as an engagement manager for strategic, high-value professional development engagements and large-scale adoptions of the mCLASS product.
  • Craft and customize compelling in-person, remote, and online professional development sessions for teachers, instructional leaders, and district and state leaders to support the strong implementation of mCLASS.
  • Advise school partners on professional development strategy and approach and develop multi-year, large-scale professional development proposals.
  • Lead all aspects of project management (prioritization, budgeting, and delivery) for PD engagements.
  • Assess the impact and efficiency of training by collecting and analyzing feedback from our partners and PD participants. Provide clarity into the happiness of our client partners.
  • Incorporate client feedback to continuously improve the professional development experience and make changes to service offerings as needed.
  • Recruit, hire, mentor and prepare PD facilitators, ensuring that facilitators have solid bases, as well as targeted preparation specific to the engagement.
  • Design and deliver internal trainings for PD facilitators
  • Collaborate with Product, Educational Partnership Management, and Sales teams to understand upcoming content offerings and feature releases and incorporate them into training programs and assets.


Basic Qualifications of the Manager, Professional Development and Design:

  • 5+ years of experience teaching literacy to PreK-6th grade students.
  • 2+ years of experience (at scale) designing and facilitating professional development sessions for educators both in-person and online
  • Validated experience coaching educators within a school or network of schools on how to use data in order to improve literacy outcomes for students.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence senior partners across a school network, district, or state education agency.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale projects in a school or district setting, including planning, budgeting, prioritizing, and running work streams across partners.
  • Proven track record managing and manipulating data to support collaborative problem solving, in an effort to drive student outcomes.
  • Ability to travel as the need arises (when restrictions are lifted) for professional development observation and meetings with key state partners; this is not expected to exceed 20% of the time.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology-based productivity tools, including Microsoft Office, Google Applications, etc. to manage and collaborate on project plans, budgets, and client-facing presentations.


Preferred Qualifications of the Manager, Professional Development and Design:

  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Proven knowledge of current early literacy instruction and intervention best practices in Spanish and English
  • Experience using mCLASS or coaching educators who use mCLASS
  • Experience using Amplify Reading and/or CKLA, or coaching educators who use Amplify Reading and/or CKLA
  • Experience leading program adoptions in a school or district setting
  • Experience crafting sound work plans and coordinating priorities and tasks
  • Experience managing a team
  • "Roll up sleeves" demeanor as evidenced by strong attention to detail and a willingness to go deep when needed to pitch in or problem solve.
  • Open receptivity to upward, downward, and peer feedback -- you act on feedback and continue to get better over time.
