Manager, Trade Compliance
Your new role:
We are seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to oversee all Trade compliance and Customs matters within the EMEA region. This position will work closely with Peloton’s Trade compliance team in NA and APAC and will be reporting into the Senior Manager, Global Trade.
In your new role you will be responsible for the development of an EMEA Trade compliance program in accordance with EMEA Customs regulations and manage a growing team of Trade Compliance Analysts. You will monitor all of Peloton’s Import and Export compliance activities in the region and manage the accuracy of Peloton’s European Customs entries as well as the performance of our Customs brokers.
You will play an integral role in the rollout of Peloton’s Global Trade Compliance Software for the region and ensure the completeness and accuracy of Peloton’s Master Data for Classification, Valuation and Country of Origin data elements.
You have a continuous improvement mindset and consistently challenge the status quo. You actively seek out changes and trends in the industry and assess the impact to Peloton’s growing and evolving business needs.
The position can be based in the UK or in Germany. Peloton offers the flexibility to work from an office full time or (partially) remote.
What you’ll do:
- Build a strong team
- Develop and build out Peloton’s EMEA trade compliance program to prepare Peloton for customs audit in all countries
- Develop Import/Export written standard operating procedures, work instructions and manuals.
- Oversee Customs recordkeeping in accordance with all import country jurisdictional mandates.
- Navigate the complexities of Brexit, including shipping to ROI and Northern Ireland.
- Thorough understanding of the harmonized tariff schedule to develop tariff classifications for various Peloton products into all EMEA markets.
- Ensure EMEA Trade Compliance information is properly maintained in the Peloton Master SKU database
- Oversee Peloton’s EMEA customs brokers.
- Provide guidance to Analysts to resolve daily shipment inquiries to ensure a smooth import/export process.
- Lead import and export documentation audits.
- Oversee the auditing of EMEA customs brokerage bills and duty/VAT invoices for accuracy.
- Establish and manage duty and VAT Deferment accounts
- Develop and institute internal reporting and KPI Reports to verify customs brokers compliance.
- manage the implementation of a global trade compliance software.
- Experience in EMEA duty drawback programs, bonded warehouse, FTZs operations and Free Trade Agreements
- thorough knowledge and understanding of IncoTerms.
- Partner with internal/external stakeholders and suppliers to develop compliance solutions.
Who you are:
- Minimum experience of 5 years with an EMEA based Importer, Customs broker or Trade Compliance Consulting firm
- Must be fluent in English, additional languages are a plus
- Must have a collaborative, team mentality
- Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment
- Must be organized, highly detailed and process oriented
- Skillful use of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Google Mail/Sheets/Docs
- Prior working knowledge of Global Trade Software is required
- Overall passion for Compliance and Supply Chain
