Amplify Tutoring launched in response to heightened student needs driven by disruptions in schooling and unfinished learning as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. High-dosage tutoring has gained national momentum as a proven research-based support to close achievement gaps for students.
This is an opportunity to join an innovative team helping schools, districts, and states to scale high-impact tutoring programs and meet student needs. Amplify works in close partnership with districts and states on an array of tutoring initiatives, including providing small group reading tutoring directly to district students through Amplify Tutors, providing tutoring materials and professional development for district-managed tutors, and consultancy services for districts to scope and implement in-house high-impact tutoring. These services are new to Amplify, and the Tutoring Operations Manager will assist the Associate Director, Tutoring Operations in the creation and implementation of systems and structures to scale our tutoring services and ensure successful and seamless implementation nationally!
Position Summary
The Manager, Tutoring Operations, will play a critical role in ensuring all tutoring services provided by Amplify are executed with success. This individual will coordinate operational processes across multiple internal teams, including Tutoring Program Management teams, Platform teams, and Human Resources to ensure the tasks needed to execute quality tutoring engagements are prioritized appropriately and implemented with fidelity. This role will support the hiring process of contract tutors from application through account setup, onboarding, and scheduling. A successful candidate for this position will be dependable, a self-starter, a problem-solver, and work well coordinating and implementing complex systems. A successful candidate will be skilled at setting up and maintaining spreadsheets and other data sets across multiple projects and manipulating data with special attention to details.
Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate and execute processes to support the initial preparation, scheduling, updating, delivery and execution of services
  • Develop recommendations that result in improved efficiency, productivity, quality, and operational savings as we scale and build new services
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Tutoring teams to refine systems for mass hiring tutors
  • Implement systems with Enrollment and Licensing team to ensure all tutors using Amplify programs are enrolled in platforms needed for tutoring
  • Collaborate effectively with Sales and Marketing and implement workflows to respond to incoming Tutoring leads
  • Create, manage, and analyze data sets, implement complex searches, and provide analytical recommendations based off of the information you have gathered.
  • Use strong administrative and organizational skills to meet or exceed established deadlines for task completion
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and think analytically and independently to solve them with a strong customer focused perspective
  • Support other tutoring team priorities as they arise, ultimately to support the growth and execution of Amplify Tutoring services


Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience maintaining business and operational processes to support the delivery of services
  • Demonstrated experience managing robust project plans and project information involving multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with hiring and onboarding; implementing systems to hire and/or onboard large numbers of people is a plus
  • Demonstrated proficiency with analyzing data from multiple internal business systems
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets
  • Comfortable learning new platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in K-12 education is a plus
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to enthusiastically function within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial service and support culture
