The Role
Cockroach Labs is looking for an Office Coordinator to maintain the office environment and perform a wide variety of tasks to make sure the team of approximately 60 people (and growing) is happy and has what they need to be successful in their roles. You will perform a wide range of administrative and office support activities to facilitate the efficient operation of our office in New York. You will be the first person most employees and guests encounter when they enter our office and will be a crucial component of our excellent company culture.
- Greet and direct visitors in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner, which includes answering and directing incoming calls.
- Take pride in the appearance of the office and ensure the office is clean, organized, well-maintained and well-supplied.
- Order for and maintain adequately stocked kitchens and office supplies, restock paper and copy machine products and general upkeep of office equipment. Order meals for the office when required.
- Manage meeting room calendars and associated logistics and ensure conference rooms are clean and presentable.
- Manage shipping and receiving for the office and retrieve, sort and distribute incoming mail.
- Assist and supervise in executing facility improvement projects, employee and office moves, furniture modifications, and setups.
- Communicate with building management for any facilities needs.
- Help organize or support company events and office gatherings as needed.
- Respond to building emergencies and be a member of the emergency response team.
- Ability to work overtime for special projects as needed including some weekends.
- Administrative tasks (manage calendars, book travel, and schedule facilities and equipment) for our executive team as needed.
The Expectations
In your first 30 days, you will work closely with our Culture and Office Experience Manager to become familiar with our environment and culture. While learning about our unique culture, you will build a foundation to work on a variety of responsibilities to ensure the office experience is an organized, efficient, safe, fun and collaborative environment for our employees that reflects and promotes our cultural values.
After 3 months, you'll be fully integrated into the team. You will work more independently, improving and identifying new ways to provide a unique office experience for both Roachers and visitors.

- Strong interpersonal skills, supported by excellent, written and oral communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people and levels of management.
- Ability to work independently and to define and solve problems, set priorities, and propose solutions effectively with minimal direction or guidance.
- Organized with acute attention to detail and take pride in the appearance of the office
- Fast learner who enjoys solving problems and improving processes.
- Team player who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to help get things done.
- Positive attitude to work with a variety of needs and personalities while remaining calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Chrome, Outlook) and G Suite Apps.
- Willingness to learn, be flexible and play an essential role in an exciting and growing company.
