You will be responsible for handling the concerns of our merchant partners and fostering a growing partner community. The ideal candidate for this position should be creative, self-motivated, highly organized, and have excellent interpersonal skills. The ability to work both collaboratively and independently on projects, strong verbal and written communication skills, and basic typing and computer skills are essential to this role.

What You'll Do:

  • You will provide exceptional customer service by interacting with business owners via email, phone or chat to resolve their inquiries.
  • You will understand merchant pain points, communicate their concerns internally, and influence our product
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in an effective, tactical, and empathetic manner
  • Summarize technical merchant issues into notes that are readable by other parties (you can paraphrase a complex issue while writing for comprehension)
  • Act as an advocate for our merchants, report and act on observed areas for improvement
  • Document updates and changes to new and existing processes, training decks and flowcharts.
  • Manage a team of hourly/non-exempt workers 
  • Build strong merchant relationships through each interaction to ensure merchant satisfaction and provide professional customer support; all while maintaining meaningful connections and encouraging community members through dialogue and messaging.

What You Should Have

  • 2 years of experience in a customer-facing position
  • Conflict resolution skills and a personality that thrives in a dynamic environment 
  • Love writing and talking about technical concepts to a wide range of audiences
  • Be a consummate teammate who enjoys wearing multiple hats, inspiring everyone around you to do great work, and working collectively to hit inbox zero 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit or previous experience in early startups. You think outside of the box and are resourceful and fiscally responsible
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams to create a consistent brand voice across all channels; create canned scripting and responses. Experience with Salesforce and Stripe is preferable and previous experience in the payments or retail is a bonus.

Our office is located in the beautiful Flatiron neighborhood of New York City and is half a block from Madison Square Park!
