A Better opportunity:

Better is looking for a Post Closing Lead for the Flex team to join our Post Closing operations. Our PC team is responsible for working with internal teams and external partners to ensure the sale of the loan to our investor networks. The Flex Team Lead will support all areas of Post Closing and will be a Subject Matter Expert in various areas of Post Closing.  This individual will be hands-on with the team to resolve mortgage file issues, meet SLAs and implement and lead new projects.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage reports to ensure accuracies
  • Assists manager with S&D / Repurchases / Reallocation
  • Assists manager with special projects related to improving team efficiency and or departments
  • Audits team’s quality
  • Maintains and updates workflows
  • Attends investor training to stay current with products and guidelines
  • Handles escalations across the flex team
  • Establish and maintain team SLAs, organization, and deadlines
  • Participates in and leads proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Provides backup and assistance to other areas of operations as needed 
  • Maintain high levels of communication with management teams and team

About You:

  • 5+ years combined hands-on mortgage processing, closing and post closing experience (Underwriting is a bonus).
  • 2 years of experience leading or supervising teams
  • Approaches work with exceptional organization, multi-tasking, and time management
  • Strong knowledge of all key residential regulations including but not limited to TRID, RESPA/TILA, Reg B, etc.
  • Proven track record of meeting tight deadlines and the ability to act with urgency.
  • Experience with Encompass and DocMagic is a plus.
  • Proven ability to problem solve and handle escalations across team.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.

Post Closing is a dynamic, multi-functional team that plays an essential role in the Mortgage process.  As part of our back-office support, we perform several key functions to facilitate the purchase of loan files, after closing, to our Investor partners on the Secondary market.
