Block Renovation Project Operations Regional Manager

ROLE

As the Project Operations Regional Manager you are responsible for building, developing, and leading multiple market-focused Project Operations teams that are charged with delivering successful home renovation projects for homeowners. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate outstanding problem solving skills, a passion for working with both homeowners and contractors and ensuring their success, and an ability to multitask and prioritize initiatives across the organization in a fast paced environment. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a passion for the built environment, strong leadership and communication skills, and a track record of developing optimized workflows to realize value for both internal and external customers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of Project Operations Associates to achieve revenue and profitability targets, while consistently meeting or exceeding project KPI’s including: renovations finished on time, to budget, with a high customer satisfaction score.
  • Contribute to the development of monthly and quarterly goal setting based on historical successes, performance trends, and process improvement focus areas. 
  • Communicate successes, roadblocks, trends, risks, and performance improvement recommendations to Block leadership and Regional General Managers. 
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the overall project delivery pipeline and its health while using data and reporting to drive action to exceed goals.
  • Proactively identify issues and opportunities, and initiate actions to respond accordingly. 
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the contractor’s perspective, identifying opportunities to optimize our processes, policies, and product to provide better support to contractors.
  • Ensure Block’s national project delivery strategy, best practices and procedures are implemented in a consistent manner to ensure consistency and streamlined success.
  • Work with leadership to attract, hire, and retain a best-in-class team and contribute to the organizational structure as needed based on business needs.

New Market Launches 

    • In partnership with Block leadership and the Regional General Manager, refine and customize our go-to-market strategy and positioning for new markets.
    • Be relentlessly resourceful while creating urgency to ensure the region’s success.
    • Support hiring, onboarding and training of Project Operations Associates.
    • Implement our standard processes and systems and train the team on them.

Coaching & Leadership Development 

    • Coach & retain your team by supporting their professional development and engagement (measured by both KPIs and employee feedback).
    • Identify blockers & efficiencies for the team to increase productivity. 
    • Create a safe, motivating and energizing team culture.
    • Develop creative, fun, and innovative ways to help your team stay connected with the broader organization and company regardless of location.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of experience in customer success, project management, operations management, construction management, including 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Experience working in the construction and home improvement industries.
  • You are analytical and data driven -- you can define KPIs and measure progress/success for your team and your initiatives.
  • You have a passion for building teams with a track record of hiring, coaching and exceeding goals.

  • You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get into the weeds to support your team.
