Block Renovation Project Operations Team Lead

ROLE

As a Project Operations Team Lead you will be responsible for managing a team of Project Operations Associates as well as overseeing your own portfolio of renovations. Renovations are a high stakes experience for homeowners, and a highly detailed process for design and construction professionals. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with a high degree of satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate outstanding problem solving skills, a passion for working with both homeowners and contractors and ensuring their success, and an ability to multitask and prioritize initiatives across the organization in a fast paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Individual Project Execution:
    • Communicate with homeowners regarding the status and next steps for their project
    • Help homeowners and contractors navigate building approvals and permitting needs
    • Set construction schedules and ensure milestones are being met on time
    • Effectively communicate with contractors to coordinate timelines, deliverables and troubleshoot during the build
    • Review construction outcome photos to ensure quality, and visiting the job site when necessary
    • Triage RFIs and Change Orders from contractors
  • Team Management:
    • Ensuring team members achieve key metrics and KPIs
    • Support team members through escalations with homeowner and contractors
    • Work with Project Ops leadership to attract, hire, and retain a best-in-class team
    • Help develop systems, tools and processes to improve project outcomes
    • Identify blockers & efficiencies for the team to increase productivity

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in customer service, project management, operations management, including 1+ year of people management experience
  • Construction, home improvement or design experience
  • Tenacity for solving problems and getting things done
  • Active listening skills and ability to de-escalate difficult customer and contractor situations
  • Attention to detail and a systematic approach to completing tasks
  • Strong communication and relationship development skills, both internally and externally
  • Desire to learn quickly and tackle new challenges every day
  • Ability to travel to job sites
  • Keen ability to balance priorities to optimize outcomes for clients, contractors, and Block
