The Department: Risk

Leveraging data, engineering, and intellectual horsepower, our Risk team is building a robust second line of defense in a first-of-its kind industry; our goal: safeguard Gemini so that we can continue to revolutionize the future of money.

The Role: Senior Associate, Consumer Credit Risk

Leveraging data, engineering, and intellectual horsepower, our Risk team is building a robust second line of defense in a first-of-its kind industry; our goal: safeguard Gemini so that we can continue to revolutionize the future of money.

We are looking for a consumer Risk Associate to join our Risk department. They will be responsible for enhancing and developing the next generation of Gemini’s consumer credit card risk framework.  The candidate will report directly to the Head of Credit Card Risk and have influence over all aspect of the credit card life cycle.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance strategy to ensure we are meeting our strategic plan for the company and achieving responsible growth for the credit card product
• Help develop the next generation of credit risk strategies as the product launches and achieves scale - underwriting framework, account monitoring, etc.
• Maintain governance documents for the end to end risk framework
• Report and track metrics on a consistent basis to ensure acceptable risk tolerances and identify portfolio trends
• Enhance account management functions including credit line management, minimum payment, and delinquencies
• Develop and manage key vendor relationships
• Partner with key stakeholders to achieve a best in class product while meeting both growth and risk tolerance forecasts

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in consumer credit risk management
• Proven ability to apply credit risk principles toward business goals
• Prior experience developing and managing vendor relationships
• Strong technical skills with knowledge of data processing and analysis technologies (BI packages, Python or similar)
• Proactive attitude and problem solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exceptional communication skills (both written and oral)
• Excellent analytical and numerical capacity
• Experience as an credit analyst in a card issuing bank 
• Experience standing up a new credit card 
• Ability to balance and execute on competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong sense of personal accountability
• Passion for startups, new technology, and cryptocurrency
