About the Role

Covera Health’s Senior Director of Medical Affairs will be responsible for leading medical affairs strategy and execution. The person in the role will lead strategic communication with Covera Health’s target provider audiences and delivering insights back into product development to support Covera Health’s clinical and commercial goals. The company’s target audiences include key opinion leaders (KOLs) in radiology and healthcare policy, and the providers within Covera Health’s network of excellence. This position reports to the CEO.

 

Responsibilities

Develop and implement medical affairs strategy appropriate for Covera Health’s evolving needs:

  • KOL development

    • Build and cultivate networks of thought leaders, decision makers, and influencers in Covera Health’s key areas of interest

    • Leverage KOL networks to establish Covera Health’s own thought leadership and credibility; shape perceptions, the industry, and the market; create interest in Covera Health; and ensure consistent understanding of Covera Health’s value proposition and competitive differentiation

    • Lead Covera Health’s clinical and scientific advisory board strategies, including membership, objectives, messaging, advisory board meetings, and leveraging members’ expertise to help achieve Covera Health’s corporate goals

  • Medical communications

    • Develop and execute a medical communications strategy

    • Create the company’s publication plan, ensuring strategic timing, placement, authorship, and cohesive external messaging. Content will include manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, conference abstracts/posters, and oral presentations, both those sponsored by Covera Health and by external partners

    • Establish procedures for the development, review, and internal approval of publications

    • Provide clinical messaging input for the creation of sales enablement materials and training; provide clinical expertise in the field as needed

  • Product development and new product planning

    • Provide clinical-commercial expertise to inform product roadmap and development

    • Translate insights from KOLs, industry trends, and clinical trends to inform product development

Future areas of responsibility may include: medical education, investigator-led study strategy, and health economics and outcomes research.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of medical affairs or clinical marketing experience within healthcare

  • Capable of striking a balance between developing high-level strategies and hands-on execution

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to be nimble in a dynamic, start-up environment

  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with individuals and teams internally and externally

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team

  • Ability to travel as required (~25%)

Nice to Haves

  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD)

  • Responsibility for leading medical affairs strategy and execution at a health technology, biopharmaceutical, medical device, or diagnostic company
