The Role:

As the Senior Director of Professional Development and Services, you will own the Professional Development and Professional Services product content, design, delivery and GTM strategy. Professional Development is a critical ingredient in our customers’ success, and the potential to expand its reach and scope will have a meaningful impact on getting our customers successful faster, more efficiently and more focused on their end goals. Today, Newsela offers Professional Development (at scale, one to many and individual). There is an opportunity to grow this team into Professional Services to deliver on technical and content offerings that schools and districts do not have the resources to implement on their own. Reporting to the Chief Customer Success Officer, you will be a leader responsible for making data-driven and customer-driven decisions, strategizing, influencing, implementing and managing a holistic offering meeting our growing customer needs. You will recruit, enable, develop, motivate and retain a team of exceptional talent, and will ensure that your team is working towards meeting daily/weekly SLAs. You’ll also work with leaders and individual contributors to mentor and coach the team. Additionally, you’ll build, test, deploy and track efficiency tactics to ensure customer success at scale to increase billing utilization, and fulfillment.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

This role directly impacts the future of K-12 education; by making our administrators and teachers more successful, we have a lasting impact on how future adults think critically and become good citizens. Working closely with our Sales, Marketing, Product, and Support teams, you will have a highly visible impact on the success of our business by owning a key ingredient in making our customers successful at the start and ongoing: Professional Development and Services. As an architect of this scaling function, your work will enable us to expand Newsela’s reach, ultimately bringing engaging, culturally responsive learning content into the hands of K-12 students and teachers nationwide.

Why We’ll Love You:

You have 3-5 years of experience leading a Professional Services organization at a SAAS company with demonstrated success building and implementing strategy, resource design and planning. You have a proven record of implementing programs and driving positive results; and an ability to design packages that meet customer needs at scale. You are also a strong leader, able to inspire and develop followership to your vision and grow and retain strong talent. You’re also a player/coach, and will build credibility by getting your hands dirty when needed but are equally capable of delegating and growing your team.  You’re a data-driven leader with scrupulous attention to KPIs, interaction plans, and team efficiency. You will have high integrity and will contribute equally to Newsea’s mission and business objectives.
