About the role 

The Senior Director of Responsible Gaming will develop and bring to life FanDuel Group’s Responsible Gaming strategy, as well as oversee the operationalization of the strategy. The successful candidate will provide thought leadership for FanDuel Group in relation to the prevention of problem gaming and will ensure that FanDuel Group attains and retains a position at the forefront of the wagering industry in relation to corporate and social responsibility. This role will continually develop and implement our company-wide Responsible Gaming program, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, such as subject matter experts, associations, etc. This is a high-profile role that will work closely and partner with executive sportsbook leadership.

What you’ll do

  • Build the set of strategies and tactics with vertical leadership stakeholders from Casino, Fantasy, Sportsbook, and Racing to implement comprehensive Responsible Gaming programs
  • Build relationships with Flutter Group resources and outside experts / associations to identify and adopt best practices
  • Represent FanDuel externally with industry associations and regulators to ensure we are recognized as the domestic leader in this field
  • Enhance our reputation with potential employees by showcasing Responsible Gaming initiatives and stories at the heart of the business
  • Work with Analytics to design and implement predictive models and segmentation strategies to identify customers to support with responsible gaming tools
  • Work with a Product Development stream to define and prioritize product features to support responsible gaming
  • Collaborate with Marketing on responsible gaming programs across Brand, Media, and CRM
  • Work closely with Customer Service to develop customer monitoring, create 1:1 customer outreach initiatives and implement continuous training for front-line associates
  • Periodically present plans, results, and program impact to senior leadership

Who we're looking for

  • An existing Director or Senior Director level leader looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity with growth in a newly regulated market
  • Needs to be creative and pragmatic. Needs to be able to come up with new ideas, but realize there are consequences of every idea and must think through how to address those implications. This person cannot think there is only one approach to answer an issue. They must anticipate and address the ramifications of all actions to the different groups in the organization
  • An effective listener. Doesn’t rely on organizational structure or appealing to authority to get things done. Listens to people in organization, evaluates and empathizes with their perspectives to determine the optimal solution
  • Experience within FanDuel and either current knowledge or high motivation for understanding how the different verticals drive revenue
  • Have an operational focus that will oversee the implementation of programs, review impact and stay on top of teams. This is a get-stuff done role
  • Attention to detail and ability to deliver quality work within exacting deadlines.
  • Pro-active problem solver attitude with flexibility to work across different units.
  • Proficient at presenting and articulating data and reporting models and ideas to stakeholders unfamiliar with same
  • Strong work ethic complemented by a positive, can-do attitude
  • A high level of integrity with ability to develop both internal and external credibility
  • Experience of building significant corporate programs and strategies
  • Experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholders’ projects and programs
  • Proven ability to acclimatize to new subject matter, and become the acknowledged expert
  • Resilience to operate in a challenging, results-oriented organization
