The Role

WeWork is currently seeking a Senior Manager, Impact to lead WeWork’s Veterans in Residence program, a national partnership with Bunker Labs aimed at helping US military veterans pursue their life’s work through space, services and community.  The Senior Manager, Impact will be based in New York, NY and report to the Director of Impact Programs based in NYC. This person will help to establish WeWork as a global leader in driving equitable access to opportunity through our platform and community. Strong candidates will have demonstrable experience managing high-profile and multifaceted national and local programs, partnerships, and campaigns to successful and sustained outcomes, including how they relate to thought leadership, strategic communications, and media relations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and scale WeWork Veterans in Residence program: A partnership of WeWork and Bunker Labs, Veterans in Residence is a startup incubator and leadership program that provides veteran entrepreneurs the community, business skills, and workspace to help launch and grow their business, find their tribe, and create their life’s work. Responsibilities include: project managing application process, cohort selection, and orientation; defining and establishing measures to evaluate the achievement of program strategies and goals; coordinating and supporting city leads responsible for delivering programming, events and network-building on local level; ensuring program quality and deliverables are met; and engaging and activating a broad range of stakeholders (veteran community, mayors, policymakers, enterprise and startups, WeWork members, employees, etc.) to support and grow the program.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to support WeWork’s veteran hiring initiative: Work with WeWork Talent, Learning & Development and Regional teams to build a trackable, attributable, and sustainable national pipeline for hiring, training and advancement.

  • Relationship Building and Partnership Development: Strengthen WeWork’s brand and relationships with veterans organizations, policymakers, business allies and the broader veterans community to inform WeWork’s existing initiatives and identify opportunities for increased impact.

  • Tell meaningful stories: Partner with Public Affairs, Marketing, and Communications teams to create a compelling and sustained integrated media campaign for WeWork’s veterans initiatives, including, but not limited to, earned media, video, and events.
     

You Bring

  • Fluent in English

  • 5+ years of experience in consulting, corporate strategy or innovation function, and/or innovative government or nonprofit entity, with strong preference for having experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments

  • Strong understanding of and/or first-hand experience relating to veteran-oriented issues and culture

  • Extensive project management experience across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders

  • Excellent organization, communication, writing and presentation skills

  • Strong self-starter who is eager to make their mark in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization

  • Experience working across functions/teams and regions

  • Experience managing agencies

  • Preferred, but not required: direct experience in entrepreneurship or working with early-stage startups

  • Must have a passion for WeWork’s mission and vision, endless intellectual & entrepreneurial curiosity, and an authentic personal mission to positively shape the future of work
