Responsibilities
- Maintain essential IT operations, including Unix/Linux operating systems, Messaging middleware (MQ), Storage devices (EMC), and Application and Web servers.
- Automate manual processes by using scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python, etc.
- Apply engineering principles to acquire, implement, design, develop architectures and maintain integrated computer systems.
- Provides technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT capabilities projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing systems.
- Perform troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.
- Establishes guidelines and methods for the installation and management of the host computer operating systems, disk arrays, fiber channel switches, and other components.
- Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission-critical host computer resources.
- This role includes maintenance/support of a large number of medium-enterprise systems, problem resolution for middleware integration environment; installing, configuring and deploying WebSphere MQ and MQ software products. The candidate must possess familiarity with varied concepts, standard best business practices, and procedures.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- 7+ years of managing, supporting, and engineering Linux/Solaris environments, VMWare ESXi and vSphere environments
- 5+ years of experience administering Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) systems
- 5+ years of experience administering EMC PowerPath
- 5+ years of experience administering SSO products (i.e. AD, SiteMinder, KeyCloak, etc.)
- WebSphere MQ, WebLogic Application Server, Tomcat
- Experience in project management, application integration, and cloud computing (specifically AWS)
- Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well as occasional weekend maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and manage a complex environment of IT infrastructure and understanding of technical concepts like enterprise architecture, SOA, virtualization, servers, databases, hardware, network, monitoring, firewalls, security, PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, phone systems, and configuration systems.
- Ability to work effectively with people from many different disciplines with varying levels of technical experience
