The Sr. Manager, Business Controls at Collibra is responsible for:

  • Lead the implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements and the Company’s ongoing SOX controls program which includes but is not limited to scope review, process documentation, evaluation of the effectiveness of key internal controls, identification of control issues, and assessment and remediation of deficiencies
  • Ensure appropriateness of internal control documentation for financial processes, including planning documents, narratives, process maps, walkthroughs, and tests of controls
  • Proactively identify and communicate findings on key risk areas and propose pragmatic recommendations to management; track the remediation and closure of findings
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with the management teams of all major functional areas as well as external auditor, ensuring a holistic understanding of key risks and processes of the organization
  • Coordinate with the company’s external auditors and consultants to appropriately leverage the work performed and results produced from Internal Audit’s work
  • Review and analyze attestations reports (SSAE18) for service providers
  • Stay current on new technical literature applicable to the internal control process (e.g., PCAOB guidance, SEC, COSO) and emerging trends and best practices around internal controls.

You Have:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required
  • CPA, CIA, or other relevant professional certification
  • A deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, COSO, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and PCAOB auditing standards and experienced in the use of auditing and risk assessment frameworks
  • 7+ years of Sarbanes-Oxley audit experience (internal audit, external audit, or management) in technology industries

  • Able to “zoom in and out” of details when needed.  You love to “roll up the sleeves” and get into the data, but also are able to look at the big picture when appropriate.
  • An excellent communicator capable of translating complex, nuanced, or detailed analysis into clear, actionable summaries or recommendations.
  • Comfortable in ambiguity, thrive through change, are highly adaptable and can create clarity and focus in a dynamic environment
  • Comfortable working with all levels of an organization and driving change when appropriate.

Reporting to Collibra's VP Controller, Sr. Manager, Business Controls measures of  success are:

  • Within your first month, you will begin to develop strong relationships with your business partners across the organization including Accounting, HR, IT, & Security.  
  • By your third month, you will have made substantial progress on a SOX gap analysis and have identified high risk areas in need of immediate improvement.
  • By your sixth month, you will have become the trusted go-to partner for internal controls and will have helped to build out a risk controls matrix and all related process documentation and workflows.
