About the role:
What's the goal of the Merchant Growth Team? This team is uniquely positioned to improve Merchant operations, drive growth for our Merchant partners and help the business achieve key profitability goals. This work contributes to the mission of the Strategic Operations team - to make Uber Eats the preferred delivery platform for restaurants, couriers and customers in the US&C. And specifically, this team is responsible for delivering on three of the four Global OKRs: 1) Restaurant-funded Offers as a proportion of Gross Bookings, 2) Ads Variable Contribution, and 3) Incident Rate.
What type of work does the team own? The team develops the strategy for and launches Marketing products like Offers (Restaurant funded discounts), and Sponsored Listing (Ads) to drive visibility, demand, and retention for restaurants.
The work of this team is highly impactful for the business and as a result, highly visible - Sponsored Listings (Ads) and Incident rate are two of Uber Eats's top global priorities.
What is the expected impact of this role? The person in this role will help build out and execute a cohesive strategy to drive help drive Merchant Growth through increased engagement with Restaurant Marketing products and improved operations to create a better Eater experience. They will run and scale experiments, support in building go-to-market launch plans, develop reporting and analytics to show the impact of these marketing tools, educate Sales teams on how best to communicate and guide restaurants, and work with cross-functional partners (Product, PMM, CRM, Country Teams, Legal, Tax) to launch new products and revenue streams in US&C markets.
Day to day responsibilities:

  • Project management: Build project plans and timelines to independently launch and scale experiments, support the launch of product features in US&C and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a successful launch.
  • Process creation and optimization: Identify opportunities where Central ownership can increase impact and help the business grow efficiently through scaled processes and automation, while giving time back to Territory Ops.
  • Sales Enablement: Build tools, analytics and training to enable Territory Ops teams and Account Managers to use and pitch Growth Enablement tools to Restaurants.
  • Advanced Analytics: Use advanced data analytics to measure performance and impact of experiments, build detailed Dashboards and report key metrics to stakeholders (cross functional teams, local teams, and leadership).
  • Data Driven Decision Making: You will use data on a daily basis to lead your decision making, as well as to generate insights and recommendations.
  • Stakeholder management and collaboration: You will build credibility and deliver value to the local operation teams, while collaborating with cross-functional teams in the (other Strategic Operations teams, Strategy & Planning, Finance, Customer Support) and other mega-region POCs.


Basic Qualifications / Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2-4 years of experience in Business Operations and/or Management Consulting with a strong analytical background.
  • A Bachelor or Master's Degree, preferably in Economics, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Stats or equivalent
  • Advanced analytical skills in SQL and Excel/GSheets.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to translate quantitative findings into action plans and clearly present data to various audiences.
  • Creative mindset that understands and enjoys experimental design. (Bonus points for experience with statistics)
  • Good problem solving skills with an ability to structure the challenges we face into concrete action plans.
  • Stakeholder management skills with experience working in diverse, cross-functional and global environments.
  • Proven project management skills with an ability to set up and manage processes or projects from the ground up.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $98,000 per year - $109,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $98,000 per year - $109,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
