The Role:

The Strategic Professional Learning Manager (SPLM) will manage the professional learning plans, delivery, and feedback for the largest school districts in the country. You will partner closely with our Customer Success team to build strong partnerships with Training Contacts within the district. About 40% of your time will be spent on partnership including meetings, documentation, and strategic plans; these partnerships will lay the foundation for delivery of professional learning that drives desired and measurable behavior changes amongst administrators, coaches, and educators within your portfolio of customers. You’ll partner with the Professional Learning Operations team and other Professional Learning Managers to schedule, coach, and execute on professional learning for these districts. After professional learning occurs, you’ll analyze the insights from the sessions and create quarterly reports that drive partnership and engagement with Training Contacts at your districts. From there, you’ll surface trends to the business and create strategic shifts to the professional learning program that benefit your districts and others.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

As a member of our growing Professional Learning team, you’ll not only drive change in the largest districts in the U.S. but you’ll also be influential in shaping strategy and future professional services offered to our customers. You’ll have a high level of autonomy to be creative and to test hypotheses before making recommendations. Your role requires cross-functional collaboration at a high level; thus, embedding you quickly into the broader Newsela team. Your work will not only influence the districts you partner with, but all schools that partner with Newsela and the students that they serve. You will have a direct impact on educators’ product adoption and the value they get from Newsela, which will ultimately result in a more engaging, culturally responsive learning experience for K-12 students nationwide.

Why We’ll Love You:

You have 5+ years of classroom or administrative teacher experience, in addition to experience developing and facilitating professional learning for large audiences. You are skilled in identifying successes and challenges in professional learning programming, delivery, and collaboration with customers to enhance future offerings and scale those across the team. You are a data-driven decision maker who can analyze school/district product engagement data and district trends to drive recommendations on how those customers can better utilize Newsela to align with their district’s goals. You have a strong set of communication and presentation skills, and are able to provide differentiated learning experiences to a large and wide variety of audiences. You connect and build relationships with customers in an authentic and personalized way, and leverage customer goals and data to personalize training sessions (both in-person and virtual). You are creative and strategic in your approach to planning, always grounding yourself in the data, and build plans for scalability and team efficiency. You are excited to collaborate with your team, as well as teams across Newsela, to drive the richest learning experience for your customers. While not required, experience working within one of the largest 50 school districts in the U.S. is highly preferred.
