Job Description

We have an exciting Senior Systems Analyst opportunity within the Division of Health Informatics (DHI) at MSK. This new role will focus on leading projects for the Consumer Health Informatics team as we help develop and improve the way we use patient-facing technology in clinical care. 

 

The Division of Health Informatics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center manages clinician and patient-facing health information technology, including the institutional electronic health record, ancillary clinical systems, and tools that enable decision support, health information exchange, knowledge management, and patient engagement. Beyond working with the technology itself, we aim to understand the people who use it and the processes affected by its implementation. We empower our clinicians and patients with tools that support the best outcomes, and we support our researchers in their efforts to forge new territory in precision oncology. We evaluate our interventions to prove that the work we are doing is impactful, and we weigh costs and benefits to measure value and prioritize future initiatives. 

 

Role Overview:  

MSK has developed and implemented numerous patient-facing Informatics solutions. Significant growth in these areas is anticipated in the coming years including expansions of existing systems, as well as deployments of new solutions. 

 

MSK is seeking a Sr. Systems Analyst to join our dynamic Consumer Health Informatics team.  In this role, the Sr. Systems Analyst supports the product management of clinical systems used by the department of Health Informatics, primarily focusing, but not limited to, the domains of patient engagement, consumer health & Patient Generated Health Data (PGHD). This presently includes product management related to our patient-reported outcomes tool (MSK Engage), patient portal application (MyMSK), and work with consumer devices and wearables. 

  

You Will: 

 

  • Support the product management of a suite of patient-facing digital products, including gathering and prioritizing product requirements, defining product roadmaps and vision, and leading efforts to identify user needs and drive improvements to user experience; 
  • Work closely with engineering, designers and other institutional stakeholders to execute development and builds against the product roadmaps; 
  • Consult and liaise with the clinical, informatics, IT, strategy and operations leadership on issues related to the assigned product portfolio, including supporting the implementation of research, pilots and deployments of products in the team portfolio; 
  • Support ongoing maintenance, upgrades, enhancements, interfaces and integration with existing and new systems, including supporting go-live activities in clinical settings; 
  • Work directly with clinical/business users of the products in the team portfolio, conducting field observations and informational sessions to educate around these systems capabilities and understand needs while being able to provide workflow recommendations and best practices; 
  • Create and maintain documentation for workflow, operating procedures, quality control and system administration; 
  • Monitor all activities associated with the daily operation and data reporting of all systems within the team portfolio to ensure data integrity, consistency and accuracy;

  • Motivated by the idea of improving the lives of patients with cancer and supporting the work for those who provide their care 

 

You have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred 
  • 4-7 years experience with clinical systems 
  • Experience with Healthcare Systems highly desired 
  • Experience with patient-facing technology and consumer health products would be a huge plus/bonus
