This senior leader position is responsible for leading payment risk strategy, mitigating operational losses, building and enhancing process controls, identifying and eliminating systemic errors, and redesigning operating process and systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.  For the right candidate, it is an excellent opportunity to shape the future of payments.

This leader will recruit, lead, train, and retain a high performing team that ensures the consistent optimal performance of DailyPay’s operating platform. The Vice President - Operations Risk must develop talent to deliver risk-conscious performance and results and will hold oneself and others accountable for meeting commitments by setting, and clearly communicating, expectations, roles, and responsibilities relative to payment operational risk. The DailyPay Operations Risk team works to ensure that internal controls, processes, and procedures are adequate and effective, and executive management understands the risks, exposures, and trends that impact the business. This team also collaborates on projects and initiatives by providing support and awareness of risks and mitigating control solutions. They will be a role model of DailyPay’s mission, core values, culture and desired behaviors, including a sound risk culture and servant leadership.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Chair Operations Risk Committee
  • Operations Risk representative to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors
  • Risk Management – Identifying, understanding, and managing operational risk is a core responsibility of this role. The leader is expected to run the business in a manner consistent with DailyPay’s risk management framework.  This includes proper business processing management and self-assurance activities; rapid issue identification and resolution.
  • Product Development – Working closely with the Sr. Director of Payment Strategy, identify and execute the product roadmap necessary to implement product enhancements to improve payment accuracy and process efficiency. This will include prioritization of initiatives, influencing partners, and securing resources.  Utilization of appropriate product development disciplines (e.g., industry research, business cases, agile methodology, test and learn, change management and risk assessment). 
  • Product Management – Institute an operating discipline and business routines with key partners to track and discuss product performance against key business and risk expectations and to take appropriate action as needed. (e.g., product profitability, adoption, utilization, customer feedback, issue identification and resolution).  Ongoing monitoring of the competitive landscape is expected.
  • Team Integration – This role brings together multiple teams and team members. It is important to create a compelling vision and culture for the team that is consistent with the DailyPay’s vision and values.  It is also important to build a team member engagement model that gets this collection of teams working together as one high performing team.

What You Bring to The Team:

  • B.S. or equivalent degree
  • 7+ years of management experience
  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: operational process consulting, systems auditing, payments management, and payments/payroll product management
  • 10+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 10+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 7+ years of management experience in consulting, auditing, FinTech or other related industries
  • Occasional need to work outside of normal business hours as required to support customers may be required
