Please note: This role is an in-person role within the new New York City Rhino Office.

Our mission is to give renters everywhere greater financial freedom to plan and enjoy their lives.

Our first product eliminates cash security deposits and puts more money back in renters’ pockets. With over $45 billion tied up in security deposits for 110 million renters in the United States alone, it’s time for security deposits to officially become a thing of the past. Tying up money at one of life’s biggest and most expensive moments just isn’t fair.

So we threw out the antiquated “way of doing things” and built a technology-driven insurance product to help bring renting into the 21st century. With Rhino, millions of renters across the country now have the opportunity to save with our award-winning deposit insurance. We’ve already saved hundreds of millions of dollars for renters and are trusted in over 1 million homes nationwide, and most importantly, we’re just getting started...

The role of Workplace + Community Coordinator is integral to cultivating the culture within the Rhino office in New York City, which ties directly in with our company as a whole. As we remain a distributed and remote-first culture, we are also excited to open a new New York City office, serving as an “on-site” collaborative space for any and all our Rhinos to use.

In this newly created role, we are looking for an office coordinator  who can connect with people both in-person and virtually. Today, we have a pretty even scattering of Rhinos who are based out of New York, and those distributed across the US. This role is critical in helping us create an inclusive and collaborative environment where a diverse group of people can and want to do their best work.

That's where our Workplace + Community Coordinator comes in! You are a dynamic and outgoing person, with a penchant for (some might say obsession with) organization, and a love for building relationships. You can multitask with the best of them, and you're known for your ability to relate to others, and communicate clearly and effectively. You're self-motivated and a problem solver, but enjoy collaborating with a team. Going with the flow is something you can do easily, and having a calm sense of urgency is one of your strengths. The team at Rhino is growing fast, and we are looking for someone who wants to grow with us!

In this role you will:

  • Manage day to day operations to provide a comfortable, enjoyable, and inclusive working environment for our team.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for general administrative office needs, including facility and building management support and communication.
  • Maintain and oversee general administrative office needs, including: COVID health screenings, facilities vendor management, ordering and maintaining office supplies, and taking pride in general office appearance.
  • Be the face of the Rhino New York City office, greet all visitors while providing a welcoming day-to-day environment for the Rhino team.
  • Support employee re-entry to the office by implementing and enforcing adherence to all health and safety policies and protocols.
  • Assist with new hire onboarding by distributing hardware, welcome kits, and helping new Rhinos feel welcome in the space - be it in the office or distributed!
  • Provide support and execution for internal and external events in partnership with the broader People Operations team.
  • Collaborate closely with our IT team for both onboarding and provisioning computers, and in-office requirements
  • Provide all other ad hoc support  and oversee the New York City office, as well as occasional support for our C Suite executives when they are on-site.

We’re ideally seeking:

  • A proven track record of customer service and office admin, with at least 2+ years of professional/office experience.
  • Experience opening and / or managing office facilities
  • Highly organized with the proven ability to multitask like a pro!
  • Comfortable with being an in-person/office team member, with potential of some remote support work as well. You are able to work on-site in the office Monday through Friday.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Someone who has the flexibility to adjust to new tasks as the company or office needs to change.
  • A creative thinker with an ability to suggest and implement improvements
  • Able to lift boxes 10-20 lbs+.
  • Experience with basic IT/Tech support (or willingness to learn!)
  • Familiarity with Google Business Accounts, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, and Sheets.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation and 401k
  • Unlimited PTO to give our employees a little extra R&R when they need it
  • Stock option plan to give our employees a direct stake in Rhino’s success
  • Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision)
  • Remote Work Program to allow for flexibility between home and the office
  • Generous Parental Leave to create a family-friendly culture
  • Wellness Perks (Gym, Classpass, & Citibike Memberships)
  • Commuter Benefits through a Flexible Spending Account
  • Fintech Equality Coalition Founding member
