About the Role
Uber Advertising's Yield Operations Manager will be responsible for analysis, technical adjustments, strategic optimization and surfacing yield opportunities across our Mobility and Delivery platforms with the goal of maximizing yield for digital ad revenue. You will define and operate yield management strategy, by controlling and optimizing inventory as well as analyzing budget utilization via enhanced intelligence and controls. You will impact our business by analyzing sophisticated data-sets and exploring new business opportunities in addition to providing avails to streamline deliverables across multiple departments. As Uber launches new advertising products and features, this person will be responsible for guiding the organization through a myriad of new technologies and plausible revenue increasing opportunities.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic self-starter with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will bring the ability to think strategically while remaining detail oriented, simplify complex issues, and show passion for working in a fast-paced environment. In this cross functional role, the Yield Operations Manager will work closely with Ad Sales, Sales Operations, Product, Measurement Operations as well as external vendors to ensure targets are being met and risks are known at the time of impact. The candidate will have a background in digital advertising, familiarity with programmatic marketplaces and auction dynamics.
What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points
---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  • Own inventory management including forecasting and monitoring inventory for Surfaces and Advertisers. Provide input to Ad Ops on campaign pacing and optimization.
  • Formulate and establish scalable mechanisms to enable Revenue Operations to successfully control performance and display campaigns by influencing budget utilization, pacing and audience forecasting.
  • Leverage campaign performance data to analyze and identify new ways to maximize ad revenue and provide actionable recommendations to Sales teams to hit goals.
  • Work with Sales Ops and Sales to define the process for managing premium inventory bookings while working with Product and Measurement Operations to build automated solutions.
  • Work with the Analytics and Product teams to build operational and revenue models that show the impact of the Yield Ops strategies.
  • Assist Finance in analyzing and testing pricing models to continually grow revenue and inventory sold through our direct and performance channels, including but not limited to methodology for new go-to-market events, changes to overall pricing models, direct sold media, seasonal rates and incentives, and analysis of sensitivity by category
  • Own communications of sell through rate reporting to cross functional stakeholders on a routine cadence
  • Use insights from the programmatic advertising marketplace and collaborate with sell side partners (SSP) regularly in order proactively understand current demand, auction pressures and formulate strategies to optimize revenue


---- Basic Qualifications ----

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economy, Analytics, Statistics, or related field
  • 4+ years of media analytics experience in a digital advertising environment, preferably in Yield Management position
  • Excellent hands-on analytical skills, with experience using BI tools; extracting business insights from data using Excel and SQL

  • Experience creating pricing strategies
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology and translate the features of a range of products into business benefits
  • Digital Advertising working on the Publisher side
  • Experience in developing monetization strategies, inventory optimization, and campaign management.

  • Working knowledge of Ad network/Ad exchange/ DSP/SSP/Publisher

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $107,000 per year - $119,000 per year. For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $119,000 per year - $132,500 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $119,000 per year - $132,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
