COMMUNICATIONS AND PUBLIC RELATIONS INTERN JOB DESCRIPTION

Join the Communications and PR team at Paddle8 which oversees media outreach and all external and internal communications for the brand. The communications intern will be a vital part of the communications team, helping to draft social media copy, research media lists, monitor coverage and produce media reports. Interns will have the opportunity to attend events.
NOTE: You must receive college/graduate school credit for this program. Prior authorization from your school will be required.

Candidates should be available to intern at least 20 hours a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist communications team in researching media outlets and writers for targeted pitching
• Use media database (Cision) to pull targeted media lists (training will be provided)
• Assist in drafting social media copy across all channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
• Monitor media coverage and assist with producing clippings for distribution
• Assist with the production of media reports

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Highly organized, self-starter with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Basic art historical knowledge across periods, coursework in Post-War & Contemporary Art a plus
• Professional, punctual and courteous demeanor, must have effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to liaise across several internal departments
• Previous experience at a gallery or auction house
• An ideal candidate will be an art enthusiast who reads media coverage of the arts and has knowledge of the art media landscape
