Principal Data Architect

• Lead the implementation of our data practice using AWS technologies, including Machine Learning, AI, Master Data Management and real-time data streaming.
• Shape our data architecture strategy and execution of robust data solutions on the AWS platform.
• Present expert level guidance on AWS systems and architecture.
• Provide visionary leader with a deep understanding of data management, cloud technologies, and data governance best practices.
• Design and deliver scalable data solutions, integrating Machine Learning and AI capabilities, managing data streaming, and ensuring high data velocity to drive data-driven initiatives
• Collaborate closely with engineering, production, marketing, support, and sales teams in the development, QA, and release of products, and balance resources to ensure success for the entire organization

• Data Architecture Design: Design and implement a comprehensive data architecture strategy that aligns with business goals and leverages AWS services (e.g., Redshift, S3, Glue, EMR, Lambda) while incorporating machine learning, AI, and real-time data streaming.
• Data Streaming Solutions: Develop and implement data streaming architectures using AWS services such as Kinesis and Kafka to support high-velocity data ingestion and real-time analytics.
• ML/AI Integration: Lead the development and integration of machine learning models and AI solutions using AWS services (e.g., SageMaker, Comprehend, Rekognition) to enhance data insights and business processes.
• Leadership and Strategy: Establish best practices for data governance, data modeling, and data integration, while promoting the use of ML/AI and real-time data processing in decision-making processes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business leaders, to understand data requirements and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
• Data Engineering Oversight: Guide and mentor data engineering teams in the development and optimization of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.
• Cloud Solutions Implementation: Evaluate and implement AWS tools and services to optimize data storage, processing, analytics capabilities, and ML model deployment.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize data architecture for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency, particularly in managing high data velocity.
• Documentation and Standards: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture standards, processes, and procedures, including ML/AI workflows and streaming architectures.
• Stay Current: Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data architecture, cloud computing, machine learning, AI, and data streaming.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related fields, with a strong focus on cloud solutions, particularly AWS.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing data solutions using AWS services, including experience with ML, AI, and data streaming tools.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing, and data governance.
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Familiarity with AWS machine learning services (e.g., SageMaker, Comprehend, Personalize) and AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Hands-on experience with real-time data streaming technologies (e.g., AWS Kinesis, Apache Kafka) and techniques to manage high-velocity data.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams.
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Data Analytics, AWS Certified Machine Learning) are a plus.
