Associate Product Manager

Penguin Random House’s corporate consumer marketing team is looking for a product manager to join our growing product team. This person will own a suite of proprietary tools that are used by marketers across the company.

This is an exciting opportunity for a junior product manager who is looking to stretch into overseeing a mature product portfolio, with a focus on both workflow and tool-building as well as consumer-facing product development.

Who You Are:

You are a detail-oriented product manager who has at least 1-2 years building successful digital products and working closely and collaboratively with developers, designers and business owners. Experience working with marketers, or in marketing, is a nice bonus. You are an excellent communicator and a self-motivated person with proven success at execution. You love prioritizing work and thinking strategically to solve problems and build consensus among stakeholders.

What You Will Do:

  • Work closely with stakeholders across the entire PRH organization to research and scope incremental enhancements to the platform that touch upon backend/workflow improvements as well as consumer-facing changes to site design and templates -- or new features entirely

  • Collaborate with developers, designers/UX leads, and QA analysts on our team to bring these ideas to life through iterative design and development cycles to meet business goals

  • Participate in ongoing user research, A/B testing and usability testing to further improve the platform

  • Leverage data and analytics to identify opportunities for improvement or further investment in the platform

  • Manage and groom the product backlog

  • Provide internal customer support and training, maintain detailed documentation and offer technical assistance to marketers who are looking to launch new campaigns on the platforms

  • Collaborate in a hands-on way with other product managers on the team who support a growing portfolio of consumer-facing web applications and other digital products

  • Participate in all agile rituals as part of our sprint cycles

Additional Skills/Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years experience as a product manager building tools and/or consumer-facing products successfully from ideation to launch

  • Excellent leadership skills

  • Facility with Basecamp, JIRA, Google Docs, Excel, Gantt Charts, Powerpoint, Word and other software/programs that would be conducive to documentation

  • Exceptional time-management and personal organization skills

  • Pro-active communicator with superlative written and verbal communication

  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced, changing development environment

  • Experience working in marketing organizations or in publishing is not mandatory -- but is a nice bonus

Full-time employees are eligible for our comprehensive benefits program. Please apply using our online application process, and kindly include your resume and cover letter.
