Associate Product Manager
Zearn is the nonprofit educational organization behind Zearn Math, the top-rated math learning platform used by 1 in 4 elementary students nationwide. Zearn Math supports teachers with research-backed curriculum and digital lessons proven to double the learning gains of a typical year of instruction. Zearn Math instructional materials - including 400+ hours of digital math learning - are free for teachers and families. Zearn also offers school- and district-wide licenses and professional development to support implementation. Everything Zearn does is driven by the belief that every kid can be a math kid.
Zearn is looking for an Associate Product Manager who is passionate about solving complex problems and working collaboratively to build features for our Educator experience. The Educator product team is dedicated to empowering teachers, admins, and other adults in the school community to teach with and support their students on Zearn. Sample features this role will be responsible for include: account management for schools and classrooms, lesson assignment, browsable curriculum content, and reporting.
What you’ll do:
- Partner with product leaders, designers, and engineers to define, prioritize, and deliver high quality digital experiences for educators
- Manage the end-to-end product development process:
- Translate user needs into detailed product requirements, specifications, and timelines
- Partner with Zearn’s design team to develop wireframes and visual layouts
- Work with Zearn’s engineering team to plan and sequence development
- Ensure features are delivered on time and function as desired
- Communicate with Marketing and Support teams as they prepare collateral for launch
- Analyze user feedback and data to understand educators’ needs and refine product usability
- Lead research projects that help develop Zearn’s product strategy
Ideal candidates will have:
- BA or BS with 2-3 years of work experience in product or product-adjacent field, education technology, or consulting
- Experience with agile software development a plus
- Ability to take ownership of projects from planning through execution
- Ability to multitask and prioritize to manage multiple projects on tight timelines
- A desire to collaborate and a proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational and communication skills
- UX sensibility to create excellent experiences for educators
- Excitement to understand and learn an existing and complex system
