Creative Services Manager
The Role

As the Creative Services Manager, you are passionate about driving a successful and collaborative process between content and creative teams, developing systems that help push transparency across a variety of projects. This role is part traditional producer and part project manager, leading the production of Cedar’s storytelling at scale. You’ll focus on raising the bar across photography, video, social media, digital content and other high-value deliverables.
This individual will coordinate with our Marketing teams to produce content from concept to final deliverable. Likewise, this role will help define project scope, develop timelines and milestones, plan and manage budget allocation, facilitate reviews and communication, and ensure project delivery requirements are met. In addition to working with Cedar’s in-house team, this role will manage external production/post-production companies and creative agencies. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, adept at engaging all levels of contributors up to executive partners. You should be comfortable working with different types of subject matter experts, creative professionals and creative outputs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all creative operations and prioritize workload for the cross-functional relationship between content, creative, design, copy, editing, art direction, agency management, etc.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings including content briefs, project meetings, kick-off meetings, risk assessments, lessons learned, post-launch reviews and more.
- Source new and own all existing vendor relationships. Negotiate pricing with vendors and source new materials for projects on a case-by-case basis.
- Initiate vendor paperwork (including NDAs, SOWs, advance requests, etc.) and manage the vendor invoice process in adherence with Cedar’s policies.
- Investigate and develop new content creation models to increase velocity and open up new production methods.
- Work closely with creative leads and content marketers to proactively clarify requirements and deliverables.
- Proof-read and check quality of work on a project-by-project basis before disseminating to teams.
- Proactively remove any roadblocks that may delay a project timeline.
- Own creative and copy reviews, ensuring the right people are in attendance, proper notes are taken, and the right deliverables are reviewed at the right times.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in managing brand, content, design, and/or creative projects.
- Experience in a fast paced, high-growth company where priorities shift frequently.
- Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to motivate those around them.
- Strong relationship building, negotiation and communication skills. You enjoy networking and getting to know team members and colleagues on a deeper level than just the task at hand.
- Proficiency in Google docs and experience using project management tools such as Asana.
- Outstanding organization and multi-tasking skills.
- Meticulous sense of detail while also advocating for creative excellence.
- Ability to self-direct and manage ambiguity.
- Knowledge of the creative and/or marketing process is highly preferred.
- Passionate about Cedar’s mission and values.
- A sense of humor.
