Data Product Owner (Remote)

We’re seeking a Data Product Owner to join our team full-time. The Data Product Owner will work directly with our VP of Data Science in a customer-facing role to ensure the conceptual and technical goals of the project are met. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing functional requirements, execution, and performance for new data products, as well as assisting our clients to deploy new AI solutions, while building data-driven culture. You’ll work closely with the product team, product designers, data scientists, data engineers and QA. Applicants should have functional experience as a data scientist, and be looking to expand their career to a strategic/leadership role.
Your experience level
2-5 years experience in applied data science in industrial/commercial setting
Demonstrated creativity in problem solving, through data-driven solution
Project management experience in a scrum/agile environment
Demonstrated communication and persuasion skills, including contract negotiations and scoping
Impact and Core Responsibilities
Full ownership of the day-to-day development of a portfolio of projects, in various vertical industries
Work directly with VP of Data Science and Kin + Carta’s leadership team to develop long-term data product strategy
Develop relationships with Kin + Carta's enterprise stakeholders and customers
Hands-on tactical practitioner with explicit accountability for the quality of their work
Responsible for managing the tasks and output of an individual project
Manage time effectively and keeps the design and development team unblocked
Grow understanding of data science development and technical constraints
Work autonomously to define personal and team scope, priorities and delivery
Support the VP of Data Science to take on product for the data science capability
Craft
Must have has solid experience with Jira, R/RStudio, Python/Jupyter and SQL
Preferred skills: cloud platform certification(s) in GCP, Azure and AWS, Databricks, MLFlow, D3, LAMP development, MACH architecture, Tableau
PMP certification, scrum master experience
Has solid skills in research and competitive analysis
Communication and Culture
Lead client checkpoints and data product reviews
Can articulate the goals of their project as well as the rationale behind requirements during client demos
Prioritizes feedback and consistently responds and reacts productively and meaningfully
In the face of complexity, able to work with others to suggest productive first steps
Communicates proactively with clients. May require guidance on stakeholder management
Desire to learn and become a SME in a number of different industries

Salary Info:
- Average salary expected for this role is $59,000-100,000, DOE. Benefits for full-time employees include unlimited PTO, three healthcare plans, vision, dental, 401K and Roth IRA plans, weekly yoga, annual education stipend and more.
