Role

Cedar is looking for a Director of Product Management to join the team and be responsible for a new critical initiative and focus on Optic. Optic is our next generation Prior Authorization offering that tackles the burdens of the process today! We’re looking for someone who can rapidly build and test out new product concepts, iterate, and scale. At a high level, the role will involve:

  • Product Strategy: Meeting with external clients and alignment with internal commercial + business teams to gain an understanding of the key problems to focus on and develop plan to tackle them
  • Product Development: Focused work with engineering, design, and data science teams to execute against the defined plan and launch high quality products
  • Commercialization: Support go-to-market strategy in collaboration with our commercial + business teams to drive adoption and fully realize customer value
  • People Management: recruiting and effectively leading an elite team of Product Managers

Responsibilities

  • Lead product discovery through direct client engagement and desk research in order to gain market insights, align with commercial strategy, and define product plan.
  • Investigate and scope which key problems your product area should solve
  • Develop and share thought leadership around your product and its market
  • Develop and lead execution on a roadmap for the product development team (engineering, design, data science) which aligns with our overarching commercial strategy
  • Work cross-functionally with partners to build specs and implement features
  • Drive and improve the product planning, discovery, development, and commercialization processes with your team
  • Define measurement strategies for your team, your product, and product launches and partner with data science to implement and draw out insights
  • Align with Commercial team on go-to-market strategy for releases within your product area and partner with sales, account management and operations to ensure seamless delivery and full value for customers
  • Build and manage a world class team of PMs

Skills & Experience

  • Effective communicator to both internal and external partners
  • Deep expertise in healthcare IT and clinical workflow knowledge including, but not limited to, utilization management & prior authorization, benefit management, clinical workflows, payers, HIT vendors, clearing houses, and patient billing.
  • Comfortable solving big, ambiguous problems
  • Track record of successful delivery of sophisticated software products
  • Strong analytical and data driven approach
  • Prior B2B product experience in an enterprise client-facing role
  • 8+ years of product management experience working directly with engineers
  • 3+ years of people management experience in the product function

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics, and AI technologies related to Utilization Management and Prior Authorization
  • Marketing and product marketing experience
  • Experience as an entrepreneur/founder
  • Experience in HL7, FHIR, EDI X12 and healthcare standards
  • Experience with data analytics software  and/or Programming (Python)
