The Role:

The Head of Product Engineering is ideally a great manager and a great team builder. He or she will be an excellent recruiter, a great communicator and issue resolver. The Head of  Product Engineering’s job is to deliver a world class analytics product delivering actionable recommendations to our clients by making everyone in the product engineering team successful, partnering with the business and addressing the issues that are getting in the way of the team’s success.

Responsibilities:

• Scale and manage  the platform engineering team known for outstanding practices, culture and delivery. 
• Provide mentorship and leadership to a closely knit, highly functioning engineering team. 
• Partner with product management and other business owners to deliver world-class products and services.
• Deliver all client facing features across the full stack including front end, storage and data pipelines.
• Facilitate cross-team decision-making and help remove blockers
• Drive technical excellence through design reviews

Minimum Qualifications:

• Positive, inspiring and passionate with with strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to establish technical credibility and drive a technical agenda with a strong engineering organization
• Flexibility and agility necessary to operate in a fast paced start up 
• 7 plus years managing engineering teams, preferably running a product team working on both frontend and backend
• Demonstrated ability to deliver a scalable and robust subscription based SaaS offering
• 10+ years building and delivering high performance and reliable distributed systems and a demonstrated ability to optimize system performance
• Strong technical ability with the ability to conduct critical architectural discussions and reviews with team members
• Experience delivering Python, Go or Java based applications
• Experience working as part of a cross-functional team

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of the manufacturing domain
• B2B experience interfacing with external partners
• Experience working on Google Cloud Platform
