As our first Lead Product Designer, you'll collaborate with our team to bring our evolving digital experiences to life. You will craft functional, delightful, and beautiful user experiences across all of our digital touchpoints. You have a good eye and aesthetic sensibility but are constantly looking to validate design decisions through user feedback and quantitative insights. You love working in a collaborative environment, and want to guide other designers, engineers, and our writers to build a beautiful platform for their work. You want to have a big impact on a growing company, and define the future of our product.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an advocate for the user throughout the project lifecycle using a strong knowledge of user-centered design process & tools
  • Build extraordinary digital experiences in sync with evolving design paradigms
  • Contribute to the vision for developing, communicating, and implementing the user experience and associated UI framework and assets
  • Produce user interface specifications, final graphics, pixel-perfect designs and assets, as well as mockups and prototypes
  • Run your own timelines and priorities and collaboratively meet tight deadlines in an agile environment


Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a product designer, interaction designer or digital designer
  • Ability to design intuitive visual design systems and user interactions from scratch that can scale across a variety of platforms and devices
  • An online portfolio that demonstrates a deep understanding of user needs and analytical skills as well as an excellent eye for visual design including color, layout and typography
  • Proficiency with Sketch required
  • Knowledge of prototyping tools
  • Front-end development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) a plus
  • Passionate attention to detail
  • Ability to successfully prioritize projects and focus on the things that matter most
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, high-productivity environment with tight deadlines
  • A love for stories and narratives.

This is an on-site position in New York City, but help can be offered with relocation. Serial Box offers competitive compensation, a 40-hour work week, and a wide suite of benefits including unlimited time paid off.
