TITLE: NPI Manufacturing Engineer

HOURS: Full-time

LOCATION: Brooklyn, New York (BioLite is currently in an all-remote capacity due to COVID-19.)

REPORTS TO: Head of Manufacturing

COMPENSATION: Salary is comparable to other early-stage companies, and includes benefits like fully covered healthcare, company bonus plan, and equity stock options.

THIS ROLE: 

BioLite is looking for a versatile engineer to join the manufacturing team to support  bringing new products to market. You'll work with the product development team and multiple manufacturing vendors to innovate creative ways to make new energy products and keep all facets of the manufacture on schedule while maintaining great quality and competitive costs.

 

YOU WILL:

  • Apply knowledge of current manufacturing methods involving metal, plastic, and electronics
  • Provide design for manufacturing feedback throughout the product development process
  • Oversee the technical and scheduling communications with CM for NPI Builds.
  • Setup quality controls including  in-line and continued QC improvements for products
  • Sourcing and supply-chain investigations to support Product Development
  • Work closely with China team to coordinate NPI activity - after hours calls required 
  • Support Regulatory & Compliance planning and execution
  • Build and maintain Should Costs models working closely with PD & Ops teams
  • Support Document Control activities for Product Development
  • Support development of assembly procedures and work instructions
  • Travel anticipated approximately 20-30% of the time.

 

YOU HAVE:

  • A degree in Engineering is required for this position
  • 5+ years' experience in a relevant field working directly with manufacturing facilities
  • Experience in Hardware Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Quality practices to ensure Outstanding customer experience
  • Experience working with off-shore manufacturing
  • A collaborative work style that focuses on being accountable and proactive.
  • Extremely detail oriented and organized
  • Capable in experimentation, testing, analysis, and research
  • A good working knowledge of plastic materials, injection molding, sheet metal, and die-casting 
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly through sketches/email.
  • Experience in Solidworks is a plus.
