About the job

As a Product Designer at Spruce, you will work closely with the Lead Product Designer and Product Managers to gain an understanding of the goals of new and existing product features. You will create hi-fidelity mockups and prototypes illustrating possible solutions, workshop these solutions in partnership with Product and advise on implementation with engineers. Product Designer responsibilities include defining product specifications, creating simple interactions and designing fully-functional products. To be successful in this role, you should have an eye for balance, accessibility, and established patterns and be able to translate requirements into practical product features.

You are a learner and committed to learning and understanding the Spruce client as well as the set of solutions that spruce provides. You are a problem-solver that is continually thinking about how to make things better - processes, features, relationships...all of it. You are an excellent communicator that is not afraid to ask questions in order to ensure you are on the right track and to get the job done. You are a self-starter that has the ability to see a solution through design and is not afraid to try something new and exciting.

What you'll do

• Design features that solve our users’ (internal and external) problems and support the interconnectedness of Spruce’s product suite
• Translate complex ideas into meaningful, data-driven, user experiences based on in-depth research and testing
• As part of your process, work closely with engineers, product managers, and other cross-disciplinary partners to define problems, create design artifacts, prototype interactions, launch new features, and proactively solicit feedback
• Effectively use and make improvements to the styles, components, and patterns in our design system
• Be autonomous. You’ll take full ownership of your work, and you take responsibility for every last detail, every step of the way
• Drive deliverables to deadlines independently
• Be open to collaboration and team-based problem solving
• Design features and large-scale projects on an aggressive schedule

• Work experience as a Product Designer or comparable experience
• 3+ years in Product Design
• Excellent communication skills
• High level of creativity
• Deadline oriented
• Strong attention to detail
• Willingness to edit designs and work with teams
• Webflow experience a huge plus
