Our innovation team is tasked with accelerating our aggressive growth trajectory by translating new ideas into reality. We are looking for someone with the product development expertise to help us expand our portfolio and enter new categories. Reporting into the Director of Innovation, this role will manage the development of Freshly-branded items with co-manufacturing partners. Collaboration and communication is key - this role requires inputs from across the organization. We will be developing loads of new products in the coming months, so we are looking for someone with drive, hustle, and the experience needed to hit the ground running.

Responsibilities:

• Identify market gaps and key opportunity areas for us to develop products to our own specifications, rather than partner with branded products.
• Define and own the process by which conceptual ideas are translated into a commercializable formulations.
• Organize and lead brainstorm sessions with our chefs and / or outside partners to develop a slate of ideas ready for development.
• Manage the relationships with co-manufacturing partners for the end-to-end development of new products; partner with external and internal R&D / culinary support to develop formulations.
• Liaise between internal and external stakeholders, such as Procurement, Quality Assurance & Food Safety, Nutrition & Regulatory.
• Develop and manage timelines, budgets, and product development activities.

About You:

• 5+ years experience in food product development for food manufacturing or private label
• Undergraduate degree; Food Science degree a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Experience working with co-manufacturing partners; private label experience a plus.
• Passion for the food industry, staying abreast of the latest trends in product development, functional ingredients, and wellness.
• Strong organization and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to set priorities within tight timelines.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and Google G-Suite products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Open and collaborative style; comfortable working in an environment where ideas are shared and challenged.
