Who We Are

The Farmer’s Dog was created to radically improve the $90 billion global pet food industry — starting with a subscription service that sends freshly-made food directly to customers’ doors. Long term, our aim is to simplify every part of pet care, bettering the lives of the animals who make our lives better. Backed by the early investors of Warby Parker, Dollar Shave Club, and Sweetgreen, we've raised over $100M in funding and seek to build a company as healthy as the dogs we feed.

Join The Farmer’s Dog team as we continue to figure out ways of bringing peace of mind to customers, health to their companions, and much-needed change to the way people feed and care for their pets.

Where You'll Come In

The Farmer’s Dog is looking for a data-driven and customer-obsessed Product Manager to own the digital strategy by building an acquisition and conversion experience that is personalized and builds trust with prospective customers. You’ll distill insights into an actionable product roadmap and work with our Engineering team to scope, build, and ship high-impact features that meaningfully improve organic acquisitions and overall conversion.

You’ll be joining the Conversion Team, responsible for the holistic customer experience across acquisition, conversion, retention, and new initiatives; this is a highly cross-functional role in which you’ll be collaborating daily with engineering, product design, sales, CX, data, etc. As such, your projects will be diverse and across all stages of the development lifecycle -- you’ll have the opportunity to think big in blue sky brainstorming sessions as well as go deep with more tactical strategies and specs. You’ll also drive rapid experimentation and improvements to both the foundations we lay as we scale new products as well as the optimizations we make to core product experiences. If you consider yourself a detailed, empathetic, and data-driven problem-solver then this is the perfect role for you!

We have five principles that describe our approach:

  • Holistic thinking: We know that nothing exists in a silo.
  • Disciplined prioritization: We need to bring perspective, clarity, and guidance to the team.
  • Data-driven decision-making: We use first principles and are skeptical. We establish context.
  • Proactive collaboration: We build vast common knowledge and encourage synchronous, streamlined work from our colleagues and diversity in problem-solving.
  • Execute for impact: We are responsible for the growth of the business and the perception of our brand. We are resilient, accountable and relentless.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the ideation, testing, development, and launch of innovative features and products that improve customers’ conversion experience and optimize the conversion funnel with intelligent personalization and recommendations
  • Identify big ideas that move the needle on acquiring and converting new users while building certainty in fresh food, The Farmer’s Dog, and subscription experience. Prioritize these efforts to craft iterative roadmaps and clearly communicate objectives.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative data to deeply understand our customers’ lifecycle across all stages and mindsets; use findings to identify opportunities to improve, and deploy strategies that improve both conversion and lifelong retention.
  • Build and manage a strategic acquisition and conversion product roadmap.
  • Develop and implement an experimentation roadmap that maximizes learnings while minimizing risk. Prioritize work within the engineering roadmap to experiment and learn quickly while also building systems and features that work at scale.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Engineering, Product Design, Data Strategy & Insights, CX, Sales, and Brand and actively work to empower our partners to be more effective, in order to accomplish these objectives.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A proven track record shipping high-impact experiences for a direct-to-consumer or subscription business.
  • 3+ years of product management experience, ideally at an eCommerce company. Bonus points for any experience with physical x digital product integrations!
  • A customer-centric mindset and experience collaborating with Product Design, Brand, and Content teams.
  • You are highly analytical and hands-on with customer data - focused on uncovering actionable insights and deeply familiar with tools to support conversion, personalization, and digital product efforts.
  • You are extremely comfortable with acquisition and conversion related analytics and customer segmentation - you feel confident you could identify key customer segments, pain points, and build features to improve their experience.
  • A proven track record building an experimentation roadmap that informs roadmaps that support a rapidly growing business and ecosystem of products
  • You get excited about opportunities like scaling products while maintaining low CAC, figuring out how to personalize content for SEO landing pages and conversion funnels to build trust, and running lots of small experiments to prove out hypotheses.
