We're seeking an enthusiastic Product Manager to join the Learning Experience group within the platform team. Our digital platform, based on Desmos Classroom, powers interactive learning experiences for teachers and students across Amplify products. The platform currently powers the free teacher tools and lessons available at teacher.desmos.com as well as the Amplify Desmos Math curriculum.
The ideal candidate has a strong design sense and comfort with modern software development to help us shape our product roadmap as we integrate the Desmos Classroom technology with more Amplify products, support the transition of Science and ELA content to the new platform, and expand the capabilities and reach of the free product.
Responsibilities of the Product Manager:

  • Product Leadership - Collaborate with the product team and other teammates to set the product vision and strategy. Develops deep knowledge of our platform product and the market to guide decision-making. Work across our product team to determine a few key problems to research and develop solutions in collaboration with members of content authoring, user research, engineering, and design teams.
    Work with our Research & Measurement team to look at metrics and usage data to understand our current usage patterns and start to develop hypotheses of where we can improve. Use a combination of usage data and user research to understand whether a release successfully met user needs.
  • Product Design - Lead human-centered product design process in partnership with design. Learn more about our users and their needs from our marketing, sales, product and content authoring teams, and by hearing from users directly.
  • Product Development - Serve as a key member and collaborative leader of our product development team to plan, develop, and deliver new features and improvements in our digital platform. Address engineering and/or design questions, concerns, and blockers. Use your strong product sense to ensure that the new features we ship maintain a high bar of always being delightful and intuitive.
  • Product Deployment - Lead the communication around new features, including working with our marketing team, training, and customer success team to ensure a successful and smooth release.
  • User Empathy - Be a passionate advocate for our customers and users and empathize with their needs. Represent their perspectives through all phases of product development. Explore usage data for insights into how our product is used in classrooms. Work with user research and talk to classroom teachers to develop a deep understanding of their needs.
  • Roadmap Planning - Works collaboratively to develop the product roadmap and priorities for future development based on market analysis and customers' needs, with an emphasis on creating sustainable competitive advantage and delivering impact. Understand and help shape our long-term product roadmap by becoming familiar with Amplify's long term goals and how product improvements help us meet those goals.


Basic Qualifications of the Product Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven ability to implement effective processes and build a healthy team culture to help software development teams ship great products.
  • Organizational skills and phenomenal attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to use data to effectively drive product priorities and evaluate the success of a product change or a feature after release.
  • Ability to identify examples of intuitive, delightful software design that drive the success of a product.
  • Familiarity with Agile SCRUM software development methodology and/or Shape Up product development framework


What we offer:
Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a lucrative 401(k) plan, incentive stock options, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross salary range for this role is $105,000 - $115,000. This role is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
