Product Manager
Background
TrialSpark is a technology company bringing new medical treatments to patients faster by reimagining the clinical trial process.
Today, trials are a deeply manual process. Data are collected via pen and paper, binders of physical documents are transported from site to site, and clinical results are audited by hand. The process is further complicated by the required coordination of numerous parties, including doctors, patients, research coordinators, data managers, and trial monitors. Inefficiencies such as these result in trials costing hundreds of millions of dollars and fewer than 10% finishing on time.
We believe that product and design are foundational in reimagining the clinical trial experience. At TrialSpark, we’re building a single technology and data platform to power full clinical trials, streamlining complexity, and enabling a patient-centric experience throughout the trial.
Job Description
We are working on real-world, impactful problems that impact millions of people. As a Product Manager, you will play a vital role in achieving TrialSpark’s vision of world-class research quality, operational consistency, and patient experience.
In this role, you will:
- Own the development of the tools used by doctors and clinical researchers to conduct research and treat patients throughout the clinical trial.
- Work with engineers, design, and any other relevant internal users to build and ship high-quality, production-ready products.
- Generate insights from data and conduct user research to define the requirements for new tools to ensure the efficient collection of high quality trial data.
- Measure and track everything related to your product areas, from usage metrics to user satisfaction
- Coordinate and organize multiple TrialSpark functions to ensure your features are on track and high quality, filling in wherever needed.
Relevant Experience
You’d be a great fit for this position if you:
- Have worked directly with engineers in product management roles for 1-3 years. Bonus points if you’ve worked on digital health products and/or complicated workflows.
- Can learn extremely quickly: Clinical trials are complicated. It’s your job to become an expert on clinical trials - from how studies are designed to how the FDA approves a new drug.
- Are analytical and data-driven: You have experience using data to optimize complex workflows and evaluate the success of new features. Bonus points if you are familiar with qualitative research tools (ex: Invision) and quantitative research tools (ex: Looker, Google Forms, and Mixpanel).
- Have proven project management skills: You are a natural at managing multiple projects at once, while ensuring timely delivery of new features.
- Have deep empathy: You are able to truly understand the needs of both our external users and internal TrialSpark users to align everyone’s goals.
- Are a productivity nerd that’s passionate about building tools to make others more efficient. You enjoy trying out new productivity tools and have strong opinions - well formed but weakly held - on productivity and workflow tools.
- Are detail oriented: We believe in high-quality products, from pixel-perfect design to well-designed, efficient user workflows.
