Job Description

Looking for a meaningful role to positively impact the patient journey? We're excited to kickstart recruitment for Product Owners to support various platforms and communication tools managed by Health Informatics. Joining us as a PO is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with clinical leadership, physicians, nursing, Amb Care, PCTs, Phlebotomists, Pharmacy, IT and more.

 

Health Informatics @ MSK

Within the broader Digital Informatics and Technology Solutions (DigITs) organization, the division of Health Informatics manages clinician and patient-facing health information technology, including the institutional electronic health record, ancillary clinical systems, and tools that enable decision support, health information exchange, knowledge management, and patient engagement.

Beyond working with the technology itself, we aim to understand the people who use it and the processes affected by its implementation. We empower our clinicians and patients with tools that support the best outcomes, and we support our researchers in their efforts to forge new territory in precision oncology. We evaluate our interventions to prove that the work we are doing is impactful, and we weigh costs and benefits to measure value and prioritize future initiatives.

 

Each PO will support one or more of the following programs:

  1. Care Team Coordination & Communication - high quality communication and collaboration between care team members promoting strong working relationships, streamlining clinical workflow and enhancing patient satisfaction and experience.
  2. Mobility - enhanced mobile capabilities on our mobility management platform creating an optimal provider and patient experience; anytime, anywhere.
  3. Enterprise Image Management - secure storage of medical images, enterprise viewing from clinical applications, and image sharing with imaging centers, external providers, and patients.

What you'll be doing...

  • Coordinating and implementing new platform rollouts for all clinical staff
  • Ensure cross-functional teamwork among project team members including both internal and external; attend all steer co/stakeholder meetings
  • Develop internal processes, training, and guidelines to improve operational efficiency
  • Ensure all issues, requests, and problems, are being addressed and raised to support staff as needed
  • Lead and support the implementation of software and hardware upgrades plus testing, troubleshooting and system/development changes
  • Track timelines, define milestones, lead prioritization workgroups, manage status reports, and spearhead engagement efforts
  • Participate and coordinate in deployments and/or incident resolution to ensure proper point-of-escalation as needed as well as managing business communications related to releases
  • Develop business and functional requirements, interface specifications, success criteria and project phasing
  • Define and lead end to end-user experience, including our end-user-facing mobile and web applications, middleware, back-end, partner integrations, reporting, and other systems components
  • Oversee a small team of analysts who support account creation, workflow analysis, requirements and use case specification collection, testing, data analysis, training, system planning, and engagement.
  • Engage and coordinate efforts (daily/weekly) with project managers, analysts, and various directors
  • Other responsibilities include: user/service favorites, implementation planning, go-lives, on-call schedule, admin account mgmt/vendor coordination, health check reviews, Telemed deployment, security plans, audit & compliance reviews, coordination with Data Product developers requirements, use case specifications, research, tech assessments, Care Team Service, RedCap surveys, help desk tickets etc.

Our ideal candidate...

  • 4+ yrs of experience as a Product Owner/Manager, Clinical Systems Manager, or Project Manager in a clinical setting at a large healthcare organization or digital health company strongly preferred
  • Analytical approach, excellent communication/presentation skills, strong stakeholder management, keen to mentor/provide guidance, patient and assertive yet tactful
  • Knowledge/technical exposure: mobile application development and deployment of medical/non-medical devices, Web and mobile architecture and familiarity with mobile endpoints e.g. iOS and Android environments, HL7 interfaces and agile methodologies/SAFe a strong plus.
  • Bonus/nice to have: previous vendor relations with Allscripts, Cerner Bridge or Zebra
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
